The breakup from his fiancee, Fanny Neguesha, back in september, surely affected his form, given how mentally weak he is.

I still believe that he's a top striker, he needs 2-3 goals to pick up his confidence and start banging them in, the injury suffered by Sturridge surely had an effect on him as he didnt expect to be our main goalthreat, and playing alone upfront. He looked very lively alongside Dany against Spurs.

Now that Daniel is back, I want to see him and Mario have about half a dozen games together before I finally make up my mind, when I have seen Super Mario play, he hasn't impressed me one bit, his body language is just far too negative, we all know he's not a lone striker, which is why I'm prepared to give him more time.....the Kop would love this man if he tried. I'm afraid we haven't seen much of that yet, come on Mario, this could be your last chance to be a Kop hero !!

I have to say I love your attitude Mrs. G.

Plenty on here could serve to follow your example. A proper Red!

Even if you are critiquing someone you say it in the best way possible so as not to come off as a mean spirited dolt.

Thanks for giving the rest of us a good example to follow, it does not go unnoticed. Love reading your posts!

You are kidding surely fella? You stick the boot into just about everything LFC when I read your posts, it's either Rogers or whichever player your not happy with at the time and somehow of all the players at the club, Balotelli gets your backing?

Balotelli won't work. He shows the odd flash BUT he makes poor decisions time and time again, he is petulant and gives away silly fouls when he trys to press the ball, he wants the ball to feet most of the time, he makes very few sacrificial runs to create space for others, he moves the ball too slowly, despite being pretty quick he rarely offers a threat playing on the shoulder of defenders adm he has proved that you can't trust him to mark at a set piece despite being one of our biggest and most powerful players. And as for him being unsuited for the lone striker role. That's the modern game, strikers play up top on their own most of the time.if he can't do it at the cost of £14 million you have to ask some serious questions. I can't be arsed with waiting for him to get his act together. He had a long run of games earlier in the season and he was truly awful, as was the team. The moment he came out we got better.

Let Studge or Sterling play the role up top, maybe Balo can provide something off the bench when things aren't working but I would prefer to see Lambert ahead of him.

      I disagree Cas.

As much as I'd like to see Mario succeed here and curious if he and Danny can strike up an understanding put for me Mario doesn't get into our strongest side right now and I'd not want to leave out Phil or Raheem to get Mario in.

Fook him he has no desire to succeed that's the big problem and making excuses for him like he broke up with his girlfriend is embarrassing. Doesn't help either that his agent appears to be Lord tw*t of twatterville either

Thankyou FL Red, I always try to see positives in our players, and whilst they wear the RED of LFC they get my support, I'd love nothing more than to see Mario turn it round so Brendan can give the finger to all the doubters.....somehow I don't think so unfortunately  >:(

Don't you mean Lord Cuntington Smythe of Cuntlington Manor from the county of Cuntyshire....or is he Sterling's agent?

I'm with you, really wanted him to succeed, number one it helps our club, but also, he's a unique individual and Liverpool has always seemed like the right place for unique people to ply their trade.

Back of my head I still harbor a suspicion he's got a part to play this season in getting us hardware.

I know what you're saying Si, and I'm inclined to agree with you...they don't deserve to be left out at present but Brendan keeps saying that Mario is there to fight for his place and is working hard so we shall see if he does get a chance.

Liverpool specialise in unique players ie; Suarez  ;) I'm certain he'll play some part before the end of the season, just how much remains to be seen.

Whilst I understand some people's views about wanting to see how Balotelli and Sturridge play in the same team for a run of games, I share the same opinion as you. None of the players performing well at the moment deserve to be dropped regularly just to see if Balotelli can be arsed yet. Sturridge thrives on movement and vision and the same goes for the likes of Coutinho and Sterling and Balotelli doesn't fit into that category.

The safest bet will be in the Europa League where his European experience might count. It would be the ideal platform for him to showcase what he's actually capable of - flashes of genius in important games.

Whether or not Brendan risks playing him together with Sturridge is another matter considering we play Southampton just 3 days after the home tie and then we've got Citeh to follow after the away tie. Yeah, Sturridge will need games for match fitness but he's made of Bakelite and shouldn't be risked playing too many games in such a short space of time.

Besiktas are second in their league at the moment.

Just Gerrard and Lucas left of that team that mullered them 8-0.

If his recent displays are him working hard then lord knows what he'd be like if he didn't give a sh*t and was just picking up the pay-cheque every week!!

How long would it take you to earn a top footballer’s salary?

Only sticking this in Balo's thread because he's one of the named for comparison.

I hope he does, its not like people want him to fail. I want him to turn into the beast of a player that his god given talent suggests he could be. If he had the right attitude, the right application and used his physical talents to their potential he would an ABSOLUTE BEHEMOTH of a player, a player in the mould of Drogba at his peak but with more skill. He could be that good. But I don't have the belief that he can get anywhere near it. Would love to be proved wrong and will humbly enjoy you telling me (and everyone else) so.

Exactly, no matter how sh*t Balo is at the moment,  no matter how wrong he is for our system, we all want him to succeed and become the next Drogba, Zlatan or greater, to score 30+ goals & assists a season and become world class, same goes with Borini or whichever player we doubt and criticise.

There is no joy watching one of our players fail, I, and I'm sure I speak for everyone else would want every player to succeed that plays for us, no matter how sh*t he is!!

This. Everytime he plays you just want him to score or do something special so much. You wait and wait and wait... Just not happening at the moment.
