So we've had Dagger (Agger), Digger (Barnes), Dogger (Collymore), Degger (Degen) and Dugger (Doug Rudham, a keeper from the fifties). Do we recycle the nicknames or have we just got to get more inventive?  ;D

I think we will come to regret this deal.

Good luck Danny - always a red.

For a long time one of the best defenders we've had with the ball at his feet. Hope he is happy with the move.

His loyalty could never be in doubt. Red personified. Thank you for the memories Danny, all the best - You'll Never Walk Alone.

Home from home, Liverpool from Brondby.

I hope Agger comes back to be a part of our staff in the future. He could be a great defense coach. He is a great defender but I don't think he can physically cope with the PL anymore.

So he became spoiled after so many years as a regular starter, refused to fight for his position - which he could very well have won, given he was the CB with most starts after only Skrtel last season - and now goes back to his comfort zone, to play in a league far below his level.

YNWA Danny, you were a great servant - but I can't pretend it hasn't left a bitter taste in my mouth. Doesn't seem like something a vice-captain would do.

Wow - didn't expect that one! I still thought Danny was a capable enough player to play himself in to most top European sides. Yeah, Brondby might be Denmark's 'top' team but they're nothing compared to other leagues. Clearly just wants to play and won't have anything to prove to anyone over there, plus competition for places won't be a problem.

This deal obviously represents a deal made with the heart rather than the head. Thank you Danny for years of unwavering support and loyalty and wish you all the best mate.

Now if we could only get shot of Assaidi and bring in another GK I'll be happy as Larry.

"This has been our home and somewhere we have been very happy and settled. However, more recently I have started to feel the effects of playing regularly in a league that is as physically demanding as the Premier League is, and I would not want to stay if I did not think that I was able to meet that challenge week in, week out.

Dagger's genuinely been my favourite defender over the last few years so gutted to see him go. It was a shock to see him go to Brondby as I still feel he could get into some top European sides but that being said, I'm glad that he won't be pulling on a rival's top.

I wish him all the best for the future. YNWA.

Reading back through the last ten pages or so and can't really believe the number of people upset at the fee. One thing we all rail about is how money has ruined the game. And now we have an instance where profits and pounds go out the window to honor the wishes of one of our most recent loyal servants to the club and all some people can think about is the money. Very sad indictment of the modern football fan in my opinion. Me personally I'm happy for Danny and extremely happy that the club in my estimation did the right thing.

      YNWA Dagger.
