Would be a great signing. He would instantly become our n.1 and we'll finally be able to put an end to The Simon Mignolet Experiment.Plus, he's free---FSG love that!
The Simon Mignolet Experiment.
Never heard of them. What type of music do they play?
Do they tour?
I hope so. Funk Rock band maybe?
He won't 'instantly' become our number one.If Brendan was looking to replace Mig so badly that player would already be here.
Mig will stay our number one. Anyone who thinks Valdez is coming on loan to replace him as our number one is a number one moron.
He's not coming on a loan deal mate, he's a free agent. I reckon the one year deal is more likely to give Brendan a season to find replacements for all 3 keepers if necessary. Valdes is more the "type" of keeper Brendan wants in that he's quick off his lines but isn't as good a shot stopper as Migs. Ideally we need a Pepe Reina from 10 years ago.
My bad I meant a one year deal not loan, I think he'll be valuable as a back up and for Migs to learn from. Obviously if Migs has a run of bad games he will be dropped for Valdes but he certainly won't be immediately displaced in goal as some are suggesting. Migs has flaws in his game but as long as he keeps us in games by producing world class stops he will stay our number one.
No I don't believe he will replace Migs as our starting keeper, not straight away anyway. I do think though that Brendan wants more from his keeper than Migs offers so we'll have to see if he can bring more to his game.
Would be a great option to have for a season and then look at things again. He might fully recover from the injury and become no1 or Brendan can have another go.
Agreed mate. As I said in the previous post, Pepe from 10yrs ago would be ideal but Valdes might fill the gap for now.
QPR's new goalkeeper Alex McCarthy says he turned down the chance to link up again with Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool in search of first-team football at Loftus Road.

he's injured so little point signing him until he can train
And wait for someone else to snap him up...
My understanding is the deal is safe but he cant do a medical until October due to his injury

AS long as that is the case, I'd hate for us to lose out on him and have to continue with Migs and Jones.
