Lovren and Balotelli were not in the pictures yesterday but that does not mean they are out. I hope that he is available because I don't want to play with Toure and Sakho.

I think some are being superstitious. They voted once on an opposition win and we won, therefore you have to do it again otherwise Bloody Mary comes to you in your dreams and kills you.

      This answers my question.

Mario Balotelli shakes off bug to be fit for Liverpool v Aston Villa

Mario Balotelli will be available for Liverpool’s match against Aston Villa on Saturday after recovering from illness, his manager Brendan Rodgers said.

The Italy striker, signed for £16m from Milan last month, missed training on Thursday, adding to Rodgers’ concerns after a string of injuries involving Daniel Sturridge, Joe Allen, Martin Skrtel, Glen Johnson and Jon Flanagan.

“Mario has had a bit of a bug that we wanted to make sure he didn’t spread around the group,” Rodgers told the Liverpool Echo. “But he’ll be OK for Saturday.“

Liverpool’s squad faces a severe test with seven matches in 21 days, beginning with the visit of Villa.

They play the Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad on Tuesday in the Champions League, then West Ham United away next Saturday and have a Merseyside derby against Everton lurking.

Having no European football last season was seen as major advantage for Liverpool as they challenged strongly for the title, but Rodgers believes his squad now has the depth to cope with challenges on multiple fronts.

“We have options now and that’s key for us,” Rodgers, who spent more than £100m on Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Rickie Lambert, Emre Can and Alberto Moreno, said. “We had a great window in terms of the calibre of players we brought in.

“We signed young players with quality and some with more experience as that’s what we needed. We were very specific about the types we were bringing in and they have all adapted very well. We did some really good business.

“Adam is looking good and he will go on and show his qualities. Rickie has mostly had an impact from the bench since he came in. We saw it with England the other night when he come on and set up the goal for [Danny] Welbeck.“

Looking ahead to the next few weeks, Rodgers said it was an exciting time for the club which is back in the Champions League after a three-season absence.

“I look at the schedule of games for September and October and it’s fantastic,” Rodgers added.

“I’m really excited about it from a coaching perspective. You want to be involved in big games and big tournaments.

“Hopefully we get a good result on Saturday and then we’ll look to the Champions League. It will be a great occasion to be back at that level.“

Very frustrating losing two possibly 3 key players during recent international duty, it happens to most epl teams at one time or another it just happens to be our turn,

We have to start with X1 match fit players so for me we have two possible selections,

      This......
                                Mignolet
         Manquillo Sakho Lovren Moreno
                                 Lucas
          Henderson.                  Gerrard
                               coutinho
                    Sterling          Ballotelli

      Or this......
                                Mignolet
          Manquillo Sakho Lovren Moreno
                       Henderson Gerrard
                Sterling coutinho Markovic
                                 Ballotelli

Personally I'd prefer the latter with a bench of

Jones, Enrique, Lucas, Allen, Lallana, Lambert, BorinI

Really cannot see Brendan playing Lucas with the G man, and if Allen is fit to start I'd  rather have him alongside Hendo instead of Lazar,  anyhoo I think either side will be enough to do the villans,

      3-1 Redmen

Gonna predict a 3-1 win for the Reds with Balo scoring his first goal for the club and Moreno getting an assist!!

Just saw this.  Well, my guess is that Lallana will step in for Allen then.

      Mig
      Manquillo  Lovren  Sakho  Moreno
      Gerrard
      Hendo    Lallana
      Sterling   Balo   Coutinho

Coutinho has played Centre mid before. Lallana hasn't. Why would you put Lallana deeper than Coutinho in a position he has never played, when Coutinho has experience at playing deeper and has been fairly lukewarm out wide?

I've posted a lot about how great I think Balotelli will be for us and how many goals he will score, but I've finally put my money where my mouth is. Far more than just bet on him to score, I've gone the whole extra mile...

I've put him in my fantasy team.

Why do we even have voting as it is expected from every supporter to expect a win in every game.

For fun, you don't have to vote.

Nothing wrong with Lallana playing there, although it is a really foor formation. I'd never play a 4-1-2-3

It's just a 4-3-3 and we play it all the time.

I think Brendan is well aware of the bib theory and uses it to his advantage whenever he can.
