It wasn't pretty but we got the win in the end.

What the fook we were doing at the end to lose the ball like that and then get turned around so easily for them to score. These young lads need to learn the game in that respect, absolutely no need for half the team go flying up the pitch when Sterling breaks like that. Nearly cost us.

That was rubbish as ive said since first game Lovren is not good enough and before everyone puts the blame on Migs it was Lovrens ball to cut out . All over the park poor passing dire crossing bad decision making . Again coutinho so frustrating one good game in 5 and if we are bringing Lucas on oh dear

      Moreno is a boss.
      Sterling is normally a Boss.
Mario looks like he could be a boss.
Coutinho use to be a boss.
      Gerrard is the boss.
Henderson is the boss of the Engine room.

      But together they are unemployed.

3 Points, that's what we wanted, that's what we got, how we went about it was typical Liverpool.

Well in lads, some shaky performances, some excellent performances and some shocking comments in here but hey.

Mig - His head has completely gone, he's been told he has to come out more often and he's a fish out of water trying it.
Moreno - MotM, pure quality this lad, love him to bits.
Sakho - Looks to have lost the plot a bit, not enjoying watching him defend at the moment.
Lovren - Much better than his side-kick.
Manquillo - Excellent also, great work all night, some beautiful crosses and did brilliant to win the pen, pair of wing backs we've needed.
Gerrard - Capped off the night with his best moment, looked slow but usually does at the start of the season, hope he improves as usual too
Coutinho - Trying too hard is my opinion, some good moments but plenty to frustrate, rightfully taken off.
Henderson - Loved him all game, pushed Moreno for MotM cracking display Hendo lad, could have easily got a couple of goals.
Lallana - Still not seeing encouraging signs from him and that's a worry - his main move seems to be arse in to defender and turn, but tries it endlessly.
Sterling - Was our most productive attacker but they knew all about him, did well though.
Balotelli - Thought his movement wasn't quite good enough but not as bad as it's been made out and did well to finish his goal, will do his confidence the world of good.
Borini - Did well off the bench.
Lucas - Didn't do so well off the bench.

Brendan - First CL game and 100% record - can't moan at that, well in Brendan!

I'd forgot about the Champions League.

You know the nail-biting, doing things the hardest way possible, high blood pressure....

      Good to have it back.

Too many nights like that and many of us will have heart attacks!

I know it was difficult watching that but let's think about it: This Ludogrets side are serious underdogs and playing without fear; they must be a decent side if they qualified in the first place and I fully expect some surprises from them in this competition. Our first game back in the competition in 5 years and we have scraped through with a win against a team with nothing to lose.

Adrian Chiles can f**k right off "What's changed in 5 years? not much as Gerrard is still left to bail them out".

Also looks as though Chiles has gone up a bra size in that time.

      We won. All that matters.
Thought we were OK except for the finishing and play in the final third which will come once the players understand each other.

But hey.. We are back in the CL. And we won like we usually do - make life difficult for the supporter. ;)

We got away with it there we really did, im not 100% sure it was even a peno

The win papers over big big cracks. Lovern with the same error he made against City, Sakho inspires no confidence when near the ball.

Look the win is all important but think bigger then tonight. What would Madrid have done to us. Even our main league rivals would have killed us tonight. We don't have a midfield it can be waltzed through. And for fook sake why did we not close up shop at 1 nil at that stage of the game? Brendan needs to learn when to sit and close things out. If he doesn't then we wont go anywhere.

Not a great performance, but we had to get off to a win.

Pleased for Mario to get his first goal!  ;D

Good to have the champions league back, eh!

Agree with someone else earlier in the thread - that goal could be very big for the confidence.

BR need to change somethings. I mean, what is the point to put Lucas on the field? What does he expect from him? I thought that Lucas came in just to free Gerrard so maybe we could create something, but he kept Steve playing between the Sakho and Lovren and made Lucas roam aroun the field. It is a disgrace that we conceded a goal like that, even tough we were ahead and the match was almost over. We have to be more experient. This is not the kind of goal we should concead under this circumstances.

And, God, please show to Mignolet how to have a better positioning. I'm still wondering why he got out of like that.

I'd agree, if Villa hadn't happened. We won, and for now that's what matters, but BR needs to sort things out very soon or we are going to find ourselves falling too far behind!
