I think we need 23 points from the next 10 games to finish in the top 3 and 21 for the top 4. Is it achievable? Yes, both are achievable. You would think we can win the games against Newcastle, MUFC, Hull City, QPR, West Brom and Crystal Palace. We already have 18 points then and only need 3-6 more from the 4 games. WE MUST WIN 6 GAMES FROM OUR LAST 10 TO MAKE TOP 4.

      MUFC (H)
      Arsenal (A)
      Newcastle (H)

I think we could lose to them and Chelsea and still get top 4. Beat arsenal and we could get top 3 for sure. Think spurs will beat utd unless utd are lucky again. Probably will be.

Who's to say we don't string 10 or 11 wins together (again) and sit comfortably on top at Crimbo. Sturridge rediscovers full fitness, Balotelli goes through a purple patch, Sterling finds his best form, Coutinho starts splitting teams open like only he can, Henderson's player of the month award spurs him on,  the defence sorts itself out.

      Let's check;

10 or 11 wins? Not quite, but unbeaten in our last 12 League games with 9 wins, 3 draws.

Top at Crimbo? Not close unfortunately.

Sturridge rediscovers full fitness? Not quite but getting there.

Balotelli goes through a purple patch? Check, those three games was his purple patch for us.

Sterling finds his best form? Still waiting on that one.

Coutinho starts splitting sides open? Check.

Henderson's player of the month spurs him on? Check.

The defence sorts itself out? Check.

I used that and got the following:

      1   Chelsea   38   46   96
      2   Man City   38   41   86
      3   Arsenal   38   29   77
      4   Liverpool   38   18   74
      5   Tottenham   38   11   70
      6   Southamp   38   22   67
      7   Man Utd   38   17   61

      I'd take that.

      6   Southamp   38   22   67
      7   Man Utd   38   17   61

      I'd take that.

Whilst that would be nice, I don't see United dropping off that far. Their fixtures are the hardest that they could possibly be but they have gotten some decent results against the other top teams this season. I made my predictions and had us getting 4th, 4 points ahead of United.

7 mate, i don't give a f**k about statistics, last season we were the only team scoring over 100 goals and not winning the league.

You've written over 1300 posts without coming out with any sense nevertheless we keep watching and hoping.

Agree that Spurs could cause United big problems - they will be fighting it out behind us.

BIG BIG Weekend this. Spuds stuff or draw with Utd and we are in business. Southampton will probably lose at the bridge. We need to do the business away at Swans. Take nothing for granted.

All the bookies have Utd finishing 4th as do most of the opta/stats websites. Not sure how.

Maybe that will change after this weekend. Hopefully.

Mate the bookies initially rely on a statistical model to predict what is going to happen. Pretty soon though, the number of people agreeing with Sky's predictions means that the bookies have to shorten the odds to prevent themselves from makig a massive loss.

UNtil recently Van Gaal was seen as being a genius doing an incredible job - that view will change in he coming weeks but until then expect United to be favourites.

Regardless of whether they qualify or not, Van Gaal has them playing some poisonous football dire to watch. Mourinho has his lot playing without ethicacy and City Mercenaries show up from time to time. Arsenal, Spurs and Ourselves deserve recognition for playing football the right way.

If there is any justice, UTDs form and substandard will fail them shortly enough. If they manage to achieve top 4, 1 of two things will have happened, all teams opposing them crumbled under the pressure of the race or they significantly improved in form.

As was last season. Our chance of top 4 lies in our own hands. Beat utd and make sure we stay ahead of them thereafter. Simples

I think Spurs could be dark horses looking at their fixtures. Especially if they beat the Skanks. In fact, seeing the Skanks beat Spurs  or better still getting a draw, wouldn't be the worst thing because they have us, Villa, Citeh and the Chavs in the next five weeks - they're bound to drop points in those fixtures, while Spurs have Burnley, Leicester, Villa and Newcastle.

It's essential that we get top 4. With the money the Scum have spent, and will need to spend again this summer, we need to hit them hard in the pocket by denying them CL football. That way only mercenaries after big wages will join them ( which has been the case this season).
Arsenal have wads of money regardless of CL qualification, so maybe it would be better for them to qualify ahead of Spurs, so Spurs have less to spend.
Bottom line is we need to finish in the top 4, or we'll have a very limited budget in the summer.

If Shitty keep playing this badly, there's no reason why we can't finish second again. Win on Monday and we're only four points behind them.

Unlikely that they will. Truly incredible that we played that bad for nearly 3months and we could be 4points off 4th with 9 to play.
