      Edited my post.
6 Real Madrid players and Toshack as manager.
      There must be more.

      Well, we have a Barca/Madrid 11.

A few more.  Pacheco, Westerveld, Vignal, Nunez, Pongolle, Kromkamp, Sissoko, Zendon, Barragan, Gonzalez, Aurelio, Paletta, El Zhar, Yossi, Poulsen, Kvarme and Ayala.

I'll go with an attack minded Newcastle...

      Mike Hooper - GK
      Alan Kennedy - LB
      Barry Venison - RB
      Didi Hamann - CH
      Terry McDermott - RH
      Peter Beardsley - IR
      John Barnes - IL
      Craig Bellamy - LH
      Michael Owen - LW
      Kevin Keegan - RW
      Ian Rush - CF

Might concede a few but F**k would they score.  >:D

I'll raise that team with an even more attack minded Man City (also including Didi)

      Man City

      James
      McManaman McMahon Hamann Riera
      Clough
      Anelka Walsh Stewart Bellamy

After the little bit in the stats thread about Villa, I'd thought I'd rejuvenate this old thread with Villa as the subject.

Current Best XI of former players still playing:

      Pepe Reina (AC Milan)

      Martin Kelly (Crystal Palace)
      Martin Skrtel (Fenerbahce)
      Mamadou Sakho (Crystal Palace)
      Jon Flanagan (Rangers)

      Lucas Leiva (Lazio)
      Emre Can (Juventus)
      Joe Allen (Stoke)

      Raheem Sterling (Man City)
      Luis Suarez (Barcelona)
      Phil Coutinho (Barcelona)

Where would that team finish in the Premier League? Tasty front three but I reckon a battle for top six with that back four!

From that XI Suarez is the only one that I would have back. I'm not a great fan of #10 role that Coutinho can do. I'd rather have a strong centre mid with an attacking midfielder. Coutinho is good winger but I'd rather have 3 goal scoring forwards. Coutinho will probably score 20+ each season in La Liga, but in PL he's a 10-15 goal forward. All our first choice forwards should be 20+ goals.
