I see a win here actually. A narrow one though.

In regards to Moreno there are two rumours flying about.

      1) He was out drinking the Friday before we played QPR and was dropped

      2) He was being rested for the Madrid game.

I'd be inclined to think it's the latter, as he will have come up against Madrid more often than all of our other players therefore he'd be extremely beneficial to us for that game.

This is the line-up I would go with. (second one would be an all out attack option should we go with that, of which I prefer. In the second one, you could take Borini out and have Sterling take his position but bring in Lazar to take the spot vacant by Sterling moving forward and have all three AM's change positions throughout.

Apart from our Stevie, I think this is the biggest game all the other players including the manager are playing, So lets hope they all rise to the occasion and forget the poor performances of late
Its going to be difficult , especially defensively, but we can get a positive result from this game ,if we stay concentrated
personally I don't really care who Brendan Rodgers play as long as those playing are up to it and give 110%
Hope those red fans  attending Anfield today are up to it too and make this European night ,one to remember , as they are known for

If we work like dogs for 90 mins and don't let them have time and space, we should nick a win. But I'm not confident because we've been so poor all season.

I never bet against my beloved club, but tomorrows game would be as good as any.

I just cant see who will step up to get us three points. The best I can hope for is a Chelsea style park the bus game with no space behind us and look to get a shot or 2 on the counter. Its not the way I want to see us play, but realistically just don't see any other way of beating them without a proven goalscorer on the pitch.

      I hope I'm wrong.

We cannot defend for our lives if we try to park bus against teams like QPR leave aside RM. I dont want to see Balo on the field. We should go back to the tactics of last season with the forward players exchanging positions twisting turning and attacking with pace and trickery. Allen can help us keep the ball and Sterling should be ready to burn the pitch with his pace.

A high tempo from the off, don't let them settle and a belief that we can do it and I think we can get a result here. What we can't do, is go into this game thinking we are going to get beat, that includes the supporters as well as the team.
We are due a good performance, no better night to do it!
Despite everything I cannot wait for this. It's been too long since we had Champions League nights at Anfield. Let's raise the f***ing roof!

there is no doubt we will play well. We NEVER get turned over in big games, but I do think they have far too much for us at the moment. I will not be too disheartened with a narrow defeat, a draw would be great and a win- well a win would be sum us up....

Plenty of games last seasosn, without Suarez, we played great offensive fast football with lots of pressing and confidence. Do that again and we can win even without Studge.

Sure they have never beaten us.
I believe we will do it.

Stick Sterling up top with Balo and have him play off the shoulder of Pepe. Pepe will not be able to handle his pace and have Balo put in a few shin raking tackles on him too. Between both of them they could have him sent off in the 1st half.

Agree about Lovren, he really does need to step it up tomorrow. He was hyped up as the 'leader at the back' who'll 'organise everything' but I've seen nothing of the sort so far.

I have seen him in the past and I know he has it in him. I think it is all about who is playing alongside him but I also think his confidence has been a bit shot. It may be the case that he needs to sit out a few games, really focusing on getting back to his best, which I have no doubt he will eventually do.

Matchday, not really thought too much about the game. Then I saw an Echo feature with Ronaldo as the cover picture and what the Spanish papers have been saying and it has got me riled up! I can't concentrate in work, I have spent the past hour or two in work, scouting the official site, forum and even the Real Madrid site (no, I can't read Spanish!)

      Would take a point now.

How many times have we been dog sh*t this season?

I count all but 1 game.

Let's take our loyalties out of this for a second.  We are playing possibly the best attacking team in the world

Glen Johnson ducks away from the ball
Skrtel has a fetish for pulling shirts
Lovren forgets what his profession is
Kolo bloody Toure is 10 years past his best

      We've no Sturridge
Borini has clearly fu**ed Brendan's new piece - he won't get a game
Lambert is about as scary as a 5 year olds Halloween costume

We've a good midfield - but they are terrified to attack because of our defenders.

That said.  I've stuck £50 on us to win because I'm a foolish, loyal idiot.

This is exactly the type of game Balotelli could shine in if he's used right. If he's used right which so far he hasn't. Keep it tight and who knows what can happen? We may get a penalty, their keeper might have a rush of blood, they might make a mistake. We may be underdogs but this is football and games can change on the tiniest of margins. Whilst this may go against the grain of 'keeping it tight' I'd play Moreno and Johnson because along with Sterling, their pace could really hurt Real on the break.

            Mignolet

      Johnson         Skertl           Lovren          Moreno

            Henderson      Gerrard       Allen

            Sterling     Balotelli    Lallana

Tell Allen he has only one role: Get the ball to Sterling's feet as fast as possible. Both he and Lallana have got to make runs beyond Balotelli to allow him to hold the ball up or this isn't going to work. Most of all we're going to need the 12th man. The only excuse for not singing tonight is you have no tongue. If the crowd can't get up for this then there really is a huge Anfield problem. Need to make this the mirror of that famous Chelsea game. From the moment Real walk on the pitch to the moment they leave it, no matter what the score, they need to be presented with a wall of noise.

There is no need to worry about the atmosphere tonight.

It is a shame that the Kop can't be like it will be tonight for every single game, but then again, I suppose that's what makes games like tonight special.

Didn't get the best sleep last night, my mind was racing about what lies ahead. Absolutely buzzing for the game tonight, heading up in a couple of hours let's make it a night to remember redmen.

Watched the BBC's story of The Kop last night so anyone that is nervous about tonight, I've sorted it. I watched it before Olympiakos '04/'05 and because it worked that night, watched it before every game running up to and including our famous night in Istanbul.
