Think the main positive was Coutinho's shooting. We have all said he needs to work on his shooting and over the last 2 games he has taken a shot very well against QPR and then rattled the post against Madrid. Haven't seen him drag a shot horribly wide over them two games so hopefully he is working on it and starting to get the benefit of doing so.

      Positives from the Hull match:

      - Clean sheet. Only our fifth this calendar year.
      - Balotelli played much better when Lambert came on. a brilliant save at the end stopped him getting the goal he desperately needs.
      - Coutinho getting back to form again and he seems to be getting better at shooting. Unlucky not to score.
      - Defence looked more organised (although to be balanced we where rarely tested).
      - We're still in touching distance of the top 4.

I am doing well in the prediction league - being a negative fickle fan of course.
      Knew we wouldn't win today.

stop saying clean sheet, you all look like sorry old farts with this saying, hull didnt threaten us at all and when they did we panicked in defence, never shown confidence, look at the way diame goes through our defence like he is ronaldo in the first half ... we were lucky that steve bruce is a mediocre manager, even allardyce realised the way to go is attacking football

Yeah because a clean sheet after god knows how many games since we last kept the opposition out isn't a positive at all is it. Tool.

Thing about the cleen sheet thing is that Hull didn't threaten us. If we had got the goal, we would have no doubt dropped deep for the last ten minutes, get increasingly nervous and become the sitting ducks we are accustomed to.

As it was at 0-0 the mindset of both teams were conducive to us not conceding.

just to annoy george red, i'm going to say clean sheet too. the period after couts came on wasd much better, we looked like a decent, attacking side and created some chances. once studge is back and balo gets the monkey off his back, we will convert these and there'll be a different feel to the club.

Confidence building has to start somewhere, George. Doesn't matter if they where threatened or not, keeping a clean sheet will be a confidence/morale boost for the defenders. Keep another one next game and that grows. Baby steps.

Balotelli played well, when was that, was it missing all those chances and dropping to the ground all the time you are referring to as good? I thought he was bloody dreadful as usual, complete waste of space, and it wasn't a great save at the end he completely missed the cross, it should have been a simple tap in.
