More negative than positive comments. Apparently, a draw is below general expectations.

When you are playing vs hull city at anfield ... forgive us if we sound pissed off but yes,  some of us expect a win.   Actually we should expect to win every game.  Anything less is below expectations :)

Apparently we've had 85 corners this season and scored from none of them

First 60 minutes - a lot of nothingness.

Hope that even Brendan Rodgers has finally seen that Balotelli up front is an exercise in futility.  As for Coutinho starting on the bench - that was baffling.   Cost us 2 points those two decisions and handed the initial impetus to Hull.

Increasingly concerned about the defensive capabilities of Manquillo and Moreno - Hull seemed to have plenty of opportunity to get the crosses in.  On the plus side, triangle of Skrtel-Mignolet-Lovren seemed like they had actually met before!

But we have 30 page dossier on corners- don't think anyone has read it mind

They have all read it mate.... they have just got the defending corners pages and the attacking corners parts switched around. So when you consider we haven't scored from a corner but have conceded plenty it just shows how successful the dossier will be once we realize the error.

One of those "if only" games for me.

If only Lovren scores that header, we win comfortably. But instead it gets cleared off the line and from there on in, every chance we get has extra pressure on it. Hull are gaining confidence. Every little thing went for them. Lovren misses his kick when Balotelli pulls it back, Gerrard is blocked as he's running through, Sterling's shot is saved, Coutinho's effort just before the whistle goes either side of the keeper. Just little things that on another day could easily see us hit the back of the net with last year's regularity.

If only one of those penalty decisions goes our way.

Defensively, it's probably as good as we've been all year. Though fair enough Hull didn't give us too many problems.

We'll play much worse than that and win. I suppose after all the luck we got at Loftus Road, we were due a slice of misfortune. No great saves from their keeper, no hitting the woodwork just little things that on another day go in our favour.

It's a clean sheet though, something to build on. Unbeaten in three.

Hull did well pressing us all day, reminded me of what we used to do to teams last year :(

Easy to press when we put out a side with no pace. Stick Sterling up there in the false 9 and see how much teams press us at Anfield then

Coutinho definitely needs to stop taking them, couldn't even beat the first man. Gerrard put some cracking balls in today but no one wanted to attack them.

Even in a marathon, the cream pull away from the pack.
Unfortunately we are still in the pack, and not at the front of it by any stretch of the imagination.

I suggested that Mario should start today, give him one more chance,  well he's had his chance,  he doesn't look like he would even score in his own back garden. I'm sure he'll be benched next game.
Lallana and Coutinho showed they've found their groove again,  happy days!
Can played with heart and commitment, loved his forward run in the first half,  that was Gerrard like.
Our problem still lies upfront,  but at least the defence held firm
Not great,  but better at least there were signs of improvement.

Oh, and the Ref was a c**t! 3 or 4 penalty shouts,  3 were clear cut IMO.

0-0 at home v Hull simply isn't good enough.
No idea why Coutinho didn't start, was class v QPR & Madrid,
Leaves me baffled as to why he took Coutinho and Henderson off early against Madrid as it pretty much conceded the game.
Same old lack of firepower upfront, they didnt cause us any problems and we should have really took the 3 points.
Don't know how long its gonna take Rodgers to work out that Balotelli upfront alone just doesn't work out at all.

Mignolet-7 (didnt have a whole lot to deal with, most shots on target were straight at him, dealt with the ball at his feet a little better)
Manquillo-6 (pretty average as usual, got forward into some good positions at times but wasn't good and wasnt poor at the same time)
Skrtel-6.5 (had little to deal with, cleaned up a lot down the touchline as usual, perhaps only critique is shi**ing out of a few headers)
Lovren-6.5 (again, little to deal with, not much to base him on)
Moreno-6 (a little dissappointed that he didnt get as far forward as he has before, some good linkup with Lallana in the first half)
Gerrard-6 (pretty average display, was better in the 2nd half but nothing great to talk about)
Can-7 (showed some good glimpses of powerful runs towards the opposition box)
Allen-5.5 (average first half, got the ball in some positions but couldnt make anything of it, kept getting caught on the ball in the 2nd half)
Lallana-6.5 (some very nice touches in the first half and burst through quite well, think he could linkup with Sturridge very nicely)
Sterling-5.5 (fail to show any real quality, first half was very poor passing was off the mark, double and often treble teamed throughout on the wing)
Balotelli-5.5 (put more of a shift in than previous games, but just didnt show enough quality really)

Coutinho-7 (instantly changed the game, some beautiful touches and brought a lot of pace to our game, my MOTM even though he played about 30mins)
Lambert-6 (held the ball up well and done his job, just a couple of instances where he should have got a shot away)
Henderson-6 (wasnt really on long enough to show anyting, but was certainly better than Allen)

      We can't score goals......

and my fear is that we are pinning all our hopes on Daniel Sturridge to get us out of this mess...

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says his side were "excellent" their 0-0 draw at home to Hull City.

You can't draw 0-0 with Hull, at home and possibly deem your side excellent if you are a team that's meant to be right up there.

Just watched MOTD. Interesting from Ruud Gullit. Showing how that because Sterling and Lallana kept running inside against a 5 man defence, Balotelli had no room to run in to. If they'd drifted outside they'd have pulled defenders out of position and given him more space. Seems to have been a tactical mistake by Brendan rather than any thing to do with the players.

You don't think Couts should have started instead of coming on with 30mins to go?

He came in as an impact player and a game changer. It is not all the time that you field the best 11. You have a duty to exploit the opposition's weaknesses and strengths to your advantage.

But for our failures in the third, we could have been 3 goals up as a result of the subs that caught Hull off-guard.

Big positive from the game is that we kept a clean sheet.

Definitely feel as though Balotelli needs a strike partner who seemed to get more chances even to miss when Lambert came on.

He looks a typical striker, who, when nothing is going for him the desperation to score becomes more of a burden for him. I do feel for him a bit. I don't think he's lazy I just think he lacks a brain (which could be even more detrimental than being lazy) but I'd like him to score just to see if he can crack on.

Well, Rodgers did say it was about finding the balance, let's hope we can build on from the clean sheet and score in our next game.
