Liverpool 0 - 0 Hull: In Game & Post Game Wondering
      Oct 25, 2014 01:58:58 pm

Starting XI: Mignolet, Manquillo, Moreno, Skrtel, Lovren, Can, Gerrard, Allen, Lallana, Sterling, Balotelli

Subs: Jones, Toure, Johnson, Henderson, Lambert, Markovic, Coutinho

Brendan Rodgers has made three alterations to his starting XI for Liverpool's clash with Hull City at Anfield in the Barclays Premier League this afternoon.

Jordan Henderson comes out of the side to be replaced by summer signing Emre Can in the middle of the park, where the German will line up alongside Steven Gerrard and Joe Allen.

At full-back, the manager has opted to bring back Javier Manquillo in place of Glen Johnson, while further forward Adam Lallana, who was used as a half-time substitute against Real Madrid on Wednesday, replaces Philippe Coutinho.

Mario Balotelli leads the line once again for the 3pm GMT kick-off against the Tigers, who will have to contend with Raheem Sterling's pace as the youngster retains his place in the side.

Meanwhile, Henderson, Coutinho and Johnson take their place on a strong substitutes' bench alongside Brad Jones, Kolo Toure, Rickie Lambert and Lazar Markovic.

Decent team that but I'm surprised Coutinho's on the bench considering how he looks like he is finally finding some form.

Seems as If Rodgers is playing it cautious with a defensive minded midfield.

Disappointed not to see Borini or Coutinho start, but whatever, hope we get an easy win today.

A bit shocked by hendo's exclusion tbh, surprised Balo retains his place, not deserved Imo but I'm not the gaffer,  might just be thinking of the schedule and resting  while he can,

Still think we'll be too strong for tigers, don't see them threatening too much but they certainly won't make it easy that's for sure,  love to see a clean sheet for the change,

Brendan, brendan, brendan... Johnson exclusion aside, that team needs more changes. Gerrard, balo and Lovren should all be dropped / rested for this. Hendo missing is huge. He's the engine.

Brendan has got himself in a place now with Balotelli where he cant win whether he plays him or not.
As long as we win then no harm done but if Balotelli doesn't show some more energy then the crowd will get on his back.

Just say what you see. It's a bullshi..t team if you ask me. How the fu...ck has Coutinho not got a start and yet Balotelli can keep his place yet again after another disappointing performance? And Lambert must be wondering why in gods name he came back to the club. That team lacks pace and mobility. Pissed off

I am trying to be positive but its a complete mystery to me why Lambert cant get any time and why Couthino isn't playing. Balotelli is playing because Brendan will not be told who he can pick. Just get a win or this place might just implode

I wonder how bad Stevie would have to play before he gets dropped.

Odd picks, Borini not even on the bench.

If we win no one will care, if we struggle Brendan is inviting more questions.

Guess that's why he's the boss. Big Shoulders Bren.

It is baffling, but I'll trust the gaffer. Hope he's gotten it right because we need a win and a commanding performance to get our season on track....

Surprised to see Hendo and Coutinho on the bench and Mario keep his place.

What on earth has Lambert have to do to get a start?

Don't know if its brave or stubborn as far as Brendan is concerned!

I hope its not this because I don't think he needs to be stubborn. But the lambert question will have to be answered at some point he scored 15 goals last season and made quite a few whats the deal?

I~ know you have wanted to see him have a chance for a while and given whats gone on this season so far I am so surprised he hasn't had his chance I would play him ahead of Mario every day of the week simply because he puts a really good shift in.

About Lambert, maybe he is just not putting enough in training? hard to believe, but the manager sees the players every day.
