Pleased Lucas is starting, but not pleased he is being deployed as a loan holding midfielder. He no longer has the legs or mobility to play that role. Can alongside him would have been better protection for the back 4 thus resulting in a 4-2-3-1 formation. 6 to protect and 4 to create. It is back to basics stuff but that is what we need.

Sterling upfront? wtf is that all about? He is shot and needs a break so he can come back stronger after xmas much like last season.

Coutinho was the only player on sunday to try and make something happen ... and he is dropped again.

Couldnt agree more and to be fair maybe being a bit harsh on Markovic being young and acclimatizing etc . Johnson has no excuse but whats more galling is the lack of  effort he puts in

At least Toure and Lucas come in, that was the minimum required acknowledgement. Yet we move Gerrard further forward to accomodate him. Our attack is going to be one of the slowest I have ever witnessed for Liverpool

Gerrard + Lambert as 2 of the main pieces, a veterans match could cope with their pace.

Johnson gets in again on merit of course, how could you ever drop Stevie G's mate there. The best I see us doing really is 0-0 or perhaps nicking a goal from a set-piece.

Problem we have though is the likelihood is they will score at least one and then to chase the game with that team would be bloody difficult.

Guess we'll find out.
