Starting XI: Mignolet, Johnson, Enrique, Skrtel, Toure, Lucas, Allen, Henderson, Coutinho, Sterling, Lambert

Subs: Jones, Lovren, Moreno, Lallana, Gerrard, Markovic, Can

Brendan Rodgers has opted to make two alterations to his Liverpool starting line-up for the Barclays Premier League clash against Stoke City at Anfield this afternoon.

Philippe Coutinho, who was an unused substitute during the Champions League draw with Ludogorets Razgrad on Wednesday night comes into the side to replace the captain, Steven Gerrard.

That means Jordan Henderson will lead the Reds out for the first time as skipper in league competition after donning the armband for the League Cup tie against Swansea City.

Elsewhere, Rodgers brings back Jose Enrique to replace compatriot Javier Manquillo at left-back for what will be the No.3's first minutes since the win over Queens Park Rangers on October 19.

For the third consecutive game, Rickie Lambert leads the line - and he'll be keen to make it three goals in as many appearances after successful strikes against Crystal Palace and Ludogorets.

I'm not surprised not at all. I'm more surprised by Lallana and Can being on the bench.

Team looks decent enough, only 2 changes I would have made, drop Johnson and Allen/Henderson. We are playing at home so I don't think we need to play both Allen and Henderson. Manquillo and Lallana would've played for me!

I think we'll dominate the middle and take control of the game. Hope we can out score them :D

Moreno's defending still needs work, but I'd have played Lallana and Can, especially for a bit of strength in the midfield. I can see Allen getting bullied today.

No problem with that team besides Johnson.

Why no Borini on the bench? 3 games in a week is a lot for Lambert.

Have Lallana and Moreno both taken a sh*t in Brendan's kettle? Not sure what they could possibly do to get a game.

No wonder we've been doing sh*t, that defence is a joke. Praying for a win today!

Rodgers being brave here. Enrique, bar his last game, has always been solid defensively. Johnson, albeit horrendous offers more seniority than Moreno and Manquillo. Time for steady minds.

So happy to see Gerrard dropped, dont like saying it but HOPEFULLY we have seen the last of him as a DM. 60+ bring him on for Coutinho at tip.

Big game. No reason why we cant win this one. Get 2 goals and solidify a lead and stoke will ease off. They will always taste blood until we peal away.
