Not really FSGs fault but more previous ownerships who bought up houses around the area for decades with the view to expanding the stadium. Those houses were then left empty for years, resulting in more people moving out as they didn't want to live next to multiple boarded up properties, this then caused a steady running down of the area.

That said I love the roughness area on match days, that's how football grounds should be. I'd hate for us be one of those sides that plays in a soulless stadium off a motorway with retail complex and a load of chain restaurants. Give me packed terraced streets and alleyways any day of the week

Yeah remember the stuff that went on with the two sisters when the original Upper Centenary was built. A lot of stuff on Parry and Moores regarding that as well with the other Yanks.

Going to be honest here, the road opposite the kop where the Twelth man pub and I think the park something pub is is disgusting,  two people have trouble walking down there side by side and there is a big puddle that builds up in the main road to splash pedestrians that are already crammed in like sardines.
Stayed in an a place there recently and there are two vacant lots behind where you can build a bus terminal or make room for pedestrians at least, forget match day people, people who actually live in the area, I found it shocking, the lots have nothing on them only waste ground gravel and yet FSG haven't been willing to cough up the money to improve that part not just for football fans but for the locals, every local I met there was so lovely too, I was so surprised by this, bloody heck it's embarrassing to me.
Not 'one' was not impressed but I feel a bit ashamed even though it's got nothing really to do with me, So what's with FSG and all that? In regards to the road opposite the Liverpool shop. Couldn't believe it, me and my mum got splashed, looks like a war zone and bus stuff is a piece of total crap.
      Any excuses anyone's got?
Not angry just totally confused and upset that that's the situation outside the greatest ground ever.
P.S.  The red gravel or whatever it is around the statues feels really lovely to walk on for some reason.

All football clubs have a moral duty to look after the area it represents and is situated in. Of course, Liverpool has the Foundation and the supporters do amazing things with foodbanks and such but like every other club it can always go that bit further. It's always a good lesson in history for the club, it's owners and the players in remembering who they play for. It keeps everyone rooted.

But the sad reality is that clubs of this size are more concerned about making money and appealing to those fans on the other side of the world who would not be able to pinpoint the city of Liverpool on the map, let alone Anfield.

Lol hey soz I can't reply one by one, on the 70's and 80's thing though, the whole stadium is revamped and across the road is empty lots where you can extend the pavement, it seems pretty simple.
No biggie, want to go back to the pubs up there sometime, had some great fun.
