Tonight's 'familiarisation' training at Anfield

Looking again at that right hand picture it is truly bizarre.  Why on earth would you want to sit there facing a girder and a concrete pillar.

how did that seat pass safety legislation anyone over two feet tall will get concussion when they stand up.

It will be interesting to see how the acoustics work now ,maybe the noise will stay in the ground more or maybe it will not.

Was reading earlier from a not so reliable source that FSG have already agreed to 'phase 2' of redevelopment. Any truth in this?

Would be surprised not to see that girder wrapped in safety foam or something...

Looks like there is still some work to be done.

Have read that the dressing rooms are not finished and temporary ones are being use this weekend.

Just doesn't seem to fit in up there.... Could have made more of an effort to make the stand out more..

No not just you, looks small and insignificant. Needs something to promote it.

Haven't a clue how to post images in here but for anyone who follows LFC on Instagram they have a great photo of the old main stand. A big difference!!!

Seriously though, one would think that some time & effort would have gone into finding the right surrounding for such an iconic piece...

Restricted due to the Anfield Rd! If/When developed, the road will probably go.

I would have thought they could easily reroute the road further back - there's only the fanpark thing there now isn't there?

Here is an image, for Phase 2, no road.

I guess the road is not used that much, more of a rat run, and with the reduced housing, and the fact it has not been available for a while, it may be not missed.

Having seen the new main stand for the first time yesterday, I am super impressed with the quality, I really can't believe how much work they've done since the end of last season, long overdue, but quite simply amazing.
