Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances the opening of our new Annie Rd end has been delayed, no one knows for sure why, all we do know currently is that someone fu**ed up or something has developed/happened causing the delay,
This is the only information available at present, unless other members can throw any light as to why ??

It’s the work at Craven Cottage that is reported to have led to Buckingham filing for administration, with Fulham updating their supporters this week that the new stand won’t be completely ready until 2024/25 season.

Liverpool CEO Billy Hogan on what will happen now to the Anfield Road end development after the contractors, Buckingham Group, filed for administration:

“Just to speak plainly, we are in a bit of a holding pattern right now based on the news that we got on Thursday and that needs to reach its conclusion before we can truly start to take the next steps.

But if Buckingham does enter into administration then we’ll need to address any delays that may arise from completing the new stand as a result of that.”

He goes on to say they're basically in a holding pattern so the September target won't be met.

Feel sorry for the sub-contractors, that are unable to get access to tools, machinery etc.

People will be owed money, there'll be work that needs putting right, and the liabilities to be covered by the administrator will have to be determined. There'll be all sorts of claims and counter claims going on.

Just hope it's as straight forward as it can be and Buckingham haven't left a defective site behind, like Carillion did with the Royal.

A full opening in October will be a miracle.

From what I can gather from the YouTube drone guys, is that the sub contractors have been able to get their tools etc. back, but the monies owed is a big concern.

I'm also guessing that FSG will be withholding a lot of money back from Buckingham due to penalty clauses.

If another company takes over it'll be an interesting contract  as they won't want to, or can't guarantee any work Buckingham have done.

I wonder if the council or H&S executive will want the roads and public spaces completed ASAP, as I'm sure there would be a limitation on the time they are closed off to the public.

I wonder how Fulham and I think Birmingham are getting on.

      Anfield Road Stand update

Liverpool FC has today released the following update on the Anfield Road Stand development.

Following Buckingham Group confirming that it has appointed administrators, we have now taken control of the Anfield Road Stand construction site and have appointed Rayner Rowen Construction, along with a number of other contractors, to resume the final works on the project.

Work will begin now to fully assess the construction programme and Rayner Rowen will work swiftly with our internal team to produce a revised project completion programme, which will give us certainty on capacity and phasing.

We will update on this revised completion programme as quickly as possible. In the meantime, some workers have returned to the site to continue some immediate works.

For the West Ham United, Leicester City and Union SG fixtures, the capacity of Anfield will be the same as the opening two games of the season against AFC Bournemouth and Aston Villa, meaning the upper tier of the new Anfield Road Stand will remain closed.

Our ticketing team will be in touch directly with those supporters who will be impacted. All general admission season ticket holders and Members with 13+ credits will continue to be accommodated for our Premier League fixtures. Further details on our upcoming cup games will be provided in the selling details when published on our website. Other ticket allocations across the board will remain at a reduced allocation in line with the first two home games of 2023-24.

It is anticipated that the additional capacity at Anfield will be incrementally phased in after the next three home games. We do not expect any impact on the continued operation of the existing Anfield Road Stand, which has remained in use throughout the development so far.

Our thoughts are with all those employees and contractors who face uncertainty at this time.

Working with Rayner Rowen Construction, we will seek to engage as many of Buckingham’s existing sub-contractors going forward as we are reasonably able to.

Everyone at LFC is looking forward to getting the stand completed and fully open, and we are doing everything possible to make sure that happens as quickly and safely as possible.

We would like to thank all fans for their support and understanding while we work to resolve this unfortunate situation.
