Liverpool 0-0 Sunderland: In game and Post Match analysis
      Dec 06, 2014 01:58:24 pm

      Anfield today

Starting XI: Mignolet, Johnson, Moreno, Toure, Skrtel, Lucas, Henderson, Coutinho, Sterling, Lallana, Lambert.

Subs: Jones, Enrique, Lovren, Gerrard, Can, Allen, Markovic.

Alberto Moreno and Philippe Coutinho return to Liverpool's starting line-up for this afternoon's clash with Sunderland at Anfield.

The duo are restored to the team as Brendan Rodgers makes two changes to the side deployed against Leicester City in midweek.

Steven Gerrard and Javier Manquillo are the players replaced, with the former on the bench.

      Jordan Henderson captains the Reds.

First time in a while I've said, i like the team. I think Lallana, Coutinho and Sterling trio will cause a lot of damage.

Chuffed to see Lallana, Sterling AND Coutinho all in the line-up at the same time! Have been banging on about these three playing all season, just need to get them in, around and BEYOND Lambert. Only complaint from me is that Enrique hasn't got the start ahead of Moreno

Excited about the starting XI. Good move to rest Gerrard for tuesday hopefully we don't rely on him to win it for us late on.
Happy that Moreno starts and puts Johnson onto his better right-hand side. Perhaps lacking some attacking options on the bench (whats happened to Borini?).

Hopefully we can make light work of them, I'm predicting a 2-0 win, Lambert with both.

Good team that. Just hope we can get comfortably ahead early for a change and rest a couple of them for Tuesday.

Definitely got an attacking look about it.

Only surprise for me is that Lucas is in and Gerrard is out.  Think I would have had them the other way around for this game and the Sunderland one.

Don't think Enrique had done too much wrong - hope Moreno has a good game.

Would like to see a situation where we can see a little bit of Can and Markovic today.

Good team, just hope that goal from Johnson has boosted him and he doesn't go back to the performance levels of a lot of his games this season. Would also like to see Markovic get some time if able..

Looking forward to seeing Coutinho and lallana together again, looks like Brendan has decided to go straight for the jugular today.

We need to open them up quickly to settle our nerves. I think we are more than capable to crash them if we score early.

Yep seems to be getting a hang of things now Brendan :D

Picking players in form rather than any other factor will always reap the best results. Glad to see Brendan wasn't smoking anything Mick was and Toure keeps his place rather than "the future captain" coming in.

Seems like the right team to me. Lambert must be getting a little tired though at 32 after starting every match for the last few weeks.

I think it's a decent team, and I think we'll win. I don't though think we'll do it in style or anything, it'll not be pretty. Future captain waiting in the wings to come into the picture.

Would like to see Can, Gerrard and Markovic come on in the second half.
Maybe for Hendo, Lucas and Sterling.

      Quite like the line up.
Obviously has the Champions League game in mind,
but I'm looking forward to see how Lallana, Coutinho and Sterling link up.
