Mate, every big club has one person who decides the transfers, whether it's the owner/president/director of football/manager, who also takes the blame if a transfered player flops. We don't know who are the members of this "committee", excuse me but can you post me a link where you heard a "committee" deciding on transfers at other big clubs ?
Don't tell me i know little about football, because i didn't see anywhere this sort of entity. I know that maybe Abramovich or Florentino Perez consults with others, but in the end he decides on what player to sign and he takes the blame if that transfer fails.
Not the greatest example I know, but.....
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has confidence in the club's transfer policy.
Mourinho stated decisions will be taken by committee, just as at other clubs.
“When it comes to selling and buying, I’ve never decided by myself. They are decisions that belong to everybody. But there’s a financial situation and I’m not responsible for that.
When you buy and sell, you have a group of people who must work together and I’ve done that at every club with different structures."
Villas-Boas has been assured he will be given financial backing and is happy with the club’s plans to have a specialised transfer committee that will include Tim Sherwood, who is highly-rated at White Hart Lane and will be promoted from his existing role as technical co-ordinator.
