Better in the second half after they tired. Did think we were going to regret the missed chances but Migs made a great save and the defence finally won a few headers so we survived. Stevie bailing us out though with the two goals, it's games like these where I start wondering about whether as a club we did truly do everything we could to keep him

Thought Stevie had an average enough first half apart from the goal with some dodgy flics, and only really got going in the second - but on a night were we needed to stick the ball in the back of the net and get the F**k out of the place - he was THE clinical one yet again. Basically got us through. MOTM for that. Good man Stevie.

Other quick picks. Cou and Markovic were positive, but lacked a goal. Hendo did well. Ricky not in it. Mario looked lively when he came on. Enrique slightly solider than Manquillo possibly. Poor flap from Migs for the goal.

But we're though. Still in the cup. Roll on Bolton...

In some ways a typical 3rd round FA Cup tie with the underdogs giving there all and their illustrious opponents thinking it will be a stroll in the park would be a apt description in the first half at least.

Coutinho oh man if he could improve on his powder puff shooting
Sakho and dare I say it Skrtel played well
Manky was well as his name suggests just awful
Can had his worst game at CB but much better when he moved to midfield
Migs I'm sure the transfer window is open?
Kolo as usual provides his usual calming influence!!
Lambert what's the point when he's worse than Balo

I'm not usually overly sentimental.......but if anybody takes anything from tonight's performance other than Gerrard then you're looking too hard......

He didn't mop up two easy chances - he scored goals that nobody else in our squad could have scored. Fact.

Poor performance overall, but got through, all that matters. Stevie saves the day again.

Pros:
+ Top performance by Sakho. Have been pretty critical of him in the past, but he's winning me over with some consistent performances.
+ Markovic looked lively. Not much movement ahead of him, but he was willing to run at them.
+ Stevie and free kicks/pens = guarantee.
+ Balotelli offered a lot more than Lambert with 1/9th of the time on the pitch.

Cons
- We need a keeper. We won't get a champions league spot without one.
- Can can cover at center back. He shouldn't be starting 3 games in a row there.
- Lambert was woeful, can only remember his side foot attempt, not sure what else he did all game as we dont seem willing to hoof it up to him.

I ( )voted migs for Man of the match for managing to not do anything quite as stupid and gift another goal....amazing

First thing that came to mind. 

Awful performance.

Bringing on 2 defenders to defend a lead against a tier 4 team does not resonate well on the squad's abillity and confidence.

Again Lucas and Gerrard just does not work, when will Brendan finally accept this.

Lambert was awful had a good chuckle to myself when in the second half he flicks a header on to Gerrard in to space the defender falls off his shoulder and is laggin a good 3m, by the time the Lambert "bursts" in to the box the trailing defender has overtaken Lambert and moved a good 2m in front of him. We are talking about a 20m sprint here. Balo showed some class touches when he came on and enough in my eyes to be ahead of Lambert in the pecking order.

Henderson was equally poor too headless chicken with a lack of bottle his head drops after one misplaced pass and a toilet performance ensues.

Gave Mignolet MOTM made a good endorsment for "flappy bird".

It was a solid and passionate FA Cup Tie between two evenly matched sides from the.................

Quite enjoyed that in the end. Was never going to be anything other than a bit of an ugly scrap but it was quite entertaining. Apart from 25mins of real sh*te in the first half, i didnt think we were as bad as all that.
Good to see our flair players coutinho and markovic standing up well to the rough stuff, they had good games. Motm has to be stevie of course.
Our defence looks shaky as per usual of course, but i think i'm just resigned to that now.
Balotelli needs to get a run now, give him a chance. We know what we will get from lambert. Balo could still be a player for us. Not sayin i'd bet my house on it, but we need to give him some more games.

Gerrard - Man of the Match by a country mile  what on earth are we going to do next season without him  apart from Coutinho and Markovic who both showed passion and played very well, Gerrard yet again dragged us out the mud.
Mignolet seems to be getting worse every game, the mistake he made for their goal was dreadful, he just doesn't command his box at all, 'shakes head'
Pretty poor performance really, good job we've got a home tie next round.
