Personally disappointed that there's no Suso and at least 1 youth player in the starting 11. Also, do we really need 2 strikers on the bench?

Would've liked to see Balotelli given a chance to get some confidence. Otherwise happy enough with the personnel ( assuming Hendo is played central), although ideally would prefer to ditch the 3 CB system and get a look at Can in midfield instead of Lucas.

If Gerrard's playing further forward then that attack really does lack mobility. Contrast from Lallana and Sterling starting.

Rickie Lambert leads the line for Liverpool at AFC Wimbledon this evening as Brendan Rodgers makes four changes to his starting XI for the FA Cup tie.

The Reds' No.9 is brought in from the beginning at Kingsmeadow, where the third round contest against the League Two side is scheduled for a 7.55pm GMT kick-off.

In other changes, Martin Skrtel returns from suspension to resume his position in defence, with Kolo Toure dropping to the substitutes' bench.

Meanwhile, Javier Manquillo and Lazar Markovic are also recalled to the manager's line-up; Academy talent Jordan Williams achieves a spot in the squad.

Liverpool XI: Mignolet, Manquillo, Sakho, Skrtel, Can, Markovic, Lucas, Henderson, Gerrard, Coutinho, Lambert.

Substitutes: Ward, Enrique, Toure, Moreno, Borini, Balotelli, Williams.

I just noticed Gerrard's in the team. You are absolutely right, but vs a weak opposition, it shouldn't matter, right? hence the reason why I would've bedded a youth and Suso into the team.

Thats a strong line up. A bit too strong...Gerrard's games being managed and he is playing against Wimbledon four days before a Premier League game?

Anyway if we dont win something is wrong. Should tw*t these.

Would rather start strong, bag some goals, then let Balo and Borini have a go then go weak and have to step up

Maybe Gerrard is starting in this, a non priority game, because he wont be starting on the weekend.

Interesting to see where Henderson/Gerrard play tonight as Markovic and Manquillo almost certainly the wing backs.  Slightly surprised that Gerrard is playing ahead of a Premier League game.

Suso played in the u21's game this afternoon mate, possilby another reason there's no youth involved.  Also most of the u18's are competing in Indonesia and 3 of our older u21's have gone out on loan to Cheltenham.  The Academy is like a ghost town at the moment.

Yeah neither he nor Williams were with the u21's, be good if Williams got on it'll mean we're winning easily  ;)

With Gerrard saying he's desperate to finish with a trophy or two maybe Brendan's going to use him more in the cups? See if he can raise his game for those matches (like he does when he plays Everton).

Surprised he didn't make the bench if I'm honest.
