Watched the 2nd half of the game. Thought it was a dominating performance, picking up loose balls time and again in dangerous areas thanks to our high intensity pressing. Was convinced with what I saw today. Once we have a dedicated and competent striker on the field, we should be making easy work of our opponents.

Good performance today in most areas. I never really rated Markovic or saw much in him until today, I have to say that was the best individual performance I've seen in a while. What a player we could have on our hands. Add a bit of Sterling and Sturridge to this team and get Borini out of the f*cking team and we could be a force again. Then again, everytime we get excited by a performance it seems to be followed by disappointment.

Very nervy last 10 mins, was delighted we held on.

It's so frustrating that we bring it on ourselves.. and it's always so obvious too. We begin to sit back more, let them have the ball more, pass it around too much at the back, bring on the pressure... and then.. !!!!!!!

Today, we avoided that last part.  :D

A very good performance today bar some sub par shooting mainly from Coutihno. Unfortunate for Stevie with his tight muscle. Perhaps why his shooting was off par. Lovren still looks like should be nowhere near the first 11 and for me was the obvious odd man out.

I really liked how we looked in the first half. I think we did things very well, moved the ball, pressed, and good link up by the lads. The second half looked like the LFC from most of 2014...sloppy, unorganized, with flashes of brilliance.

I still don't know what SM was lookin at with the shot from distance that hit the bar...always gotta be on your guard!!!

For those slating Borini, I think what he did helped our other attacking players be so effective. Sure, he is a bit sh*t at finishing, but his pressing and work ethic moved sunderland around the place allowing Markovic to find space ultimately and helped us dominate them in the first half.

Like, on balance I'd probably rather Balotelli started, but Borini played his part in the win.

Great weekend of results so far altogether.

Slowly dragging back to form. 1 loss in 13 ain't too shabby

And that loss, despite its supposedly emphatic scoreline, could have gone either way if you consider the chances (and that F***ing offside goal).

I think he said we haven't lost a game in 60 matches going into the break winning.

This shows what we're going to miss after next season. Not having a dig at him but can anyone genuinely see Hendo putting his arm around someone like that? That's the type of thing that can only come from being an institution at the club.

Unbeaten in 64 games when leading 1-0 at half time. Didn't say how many wins though, expect about half are draws mind.

True, but we are looking at a form stat. Form stats are meant to indicate how we are playing no? If a loss is undeserved, it is relevant.

I think it was just 64 games when leading by any score at half time, they said we'd won 53 as well I think, 54 now.

I actually think, if Borini hadn't gotten a yellow, he should of stayed on, I think he offers more then Balotelli. Just my opinion

Only 4 teams in better form over the last 10 games, some of the new signings starting to show their worth as a few mentioned they might, some of them even earlier, though maybe quieter, than Mick ;).

Just pointing out that Mignolet's kicks seemed a lot more "central" today. Maybe that was the wind?  ;D
