People need to use their heads a bit here.

Seems that Arsenal fans believe Higuain to Liverpool rumors are true. They are not happy. :)

Melissa Reddy was saying on TAW that from what she understands we are not even looking at the striker position...speed along the wings..a quality mid and counter (defensively) to Moreno...they figure a 23-25 man squad max.

      Perfect!

I feel that midfield position will be the key to next season. We need to get that spot right.

Hey, Jürgen is not completely innocent here, he went and attended the Argentina match :)   Who's he watching so ...

Just shows you though, when it can be reported he's sitting beside the player's agent, only for it to turn out to be Klopp Jnr !   (I presume the latter is 'actually' true)

Danny,Benteke,Ings and Origi we don't need another striker . We need to concede fewer goals and create more chances.

And we still have Firmino as a #4 striker as I just cannot see the gaffer keeping Benteke.

You can never have to many good players but in a system that plays with one striker we are not going to go out and pay big money for another out/out striker to play when/if Danny gets a nick.

Add more goals from the wings/mid field and tighten up in the back..play as a team.

Agree, think we're better served up front than we have been in the past, and higher priority is to shore up the back.
Assuming Benteke is leaving, signing Higuain/a striker would only make sense if Danny was also going to be sold.

The sort of thing we will get excited about for weeks but then all suffer that kick in the nuts type feeling when we re-sign Rickie Lambert on a 6 month loan deal instead.

Hopefully not but it does appear to be one for the bin, Echo reporting there's no interest from us at all.

Seems the Echo is reporting immediately on rumours, interesting as I don't remember them being this quick in the past to either quash interest or to try and stave off approaches (Cou). Some could easily suggest it's managing expectations but that might be a little unfair as I believe one of the most annoying things of silly season is being strung along by these drip feed rumours.

Really would like us to secure a starting CM soon though.

Beneteke will leave, that means us going into a new season with

Sturridge - One of the best in the league but is made of glass
Ings - Coming back from a serious injury and still unproven at LFC
Origi - Potential but again, not gonna bag you 20 goals a season

It wouldn't be completely out of the question for Klopp to reinforce our striker options. Albeit not with Higuain

He uses Firmino up there as well, with no Europe I don't think he will go in with anymore.

He'll look to improve  goals from the wide option and chance creation for those four

Said this a couple of days ago Luke.

I think it's great that any rumours, that have no substance, in or out are quashed immediately.  Look at the business we've done so far, mentioned one day, more or less done the day after and it's been the same following Dortmunds transfers this summer too.  Maybe it's the way Jürgen's used to doing it and doesn't feel the need for a load of bullshit to keep appearing and reappearing day after day.

It may be boring for the transfer muppets as they can't get their fix, or dwell on and pre decide if it's the right or wrong move but I'm enjoying the fact that nothing seems to be being leaked.

      😇

Just to hide the fact he watched other player. ;)

I agree, not a chance we'll sign this lad.

But it's laughable to me that the idea of signing a player like Higuain is somehow considered by us all to be somehow ludicrous. Too old, no resale value, doesn't fit the FSG model etc. This lad is a frickin goal machine. He scored em in South America, he scored a bucket full at Madrid, he's still banging them in at Napoli and his record for Argentina isn't too shabby either. Id be doing cartwheels if we could sign a player like this. He's no Morientes who was simply too lightweight for the EPL.

      He's hardworking
      He's strong as an Ox
His link up play is superb
He is surprisingly quick in the final third
      And he is bloody prolific
