Given we spent the majority of the second half playing against two banks of four around their box and their keeper kept them in it I'm not overly arsed about the result.  We could've won it easily if their keeper hadn't had such a good performance so I think using that game as an excuse to sign a striker is a bit weak, as soon as Studge gets back we'll be golden.

Sorry, but if you seriously think, that Studge is going to come back and straight away hit the ground running, then you are deluded. He's been out for 5 months, not had any game time, it is unrealistic to expect him to perform as he was. He will need time and games to get back to where he was. Let's not put too much expectation on him, we need to be realistic as do our owners!

Don't apologise, I think the majority will be well happy to have somebody who at least knows where the trigger is.

Sorry, I am just not as optimistic as you, I do though admire your optimism and hope you are proved right, and me wrong. I still think we cannot afford to not sign a proven striker this window, just in case.

Bogdan had a great game in nets for Bolton. Would have been a different game if the penalty and red card was given.

Their 'keeper had brilliant game and kept them in it, mustn't forget their extra man of course with the whistle and the white stick.

Sometimes you just have to say fair play. Yes it should have been a red, but really I think Bolton deserved their draw off the back of good discipline and an inspired goalkeeping performance from Bogdan.

As for us think we played quite well but our lack of a natural goalscorer and some poor decision making from our creative players held us back.

Anyway with some of the results that have popped up this weekend, I will gladly accept a replay. Sturridge could be back for that one too.

Much appreciated and yes we do need to sign someone but unfortunately that's where my optimism starts to falter as I just can't see it happening.

Was in the Main Stand today. Haven't been in it for probably 10 years, always favouring The Kop or Lower Cent..... Can't believe just how OLD it looks.

Anyway, enough of that obvious observation... How terrible was the atmosphere tonight? Or was it just where I was? I don't know... Seemed like hardly any chants where started let alone filtered through from past 305.

      Oh, football views then:
      1.  Clueless in attack
      2.  Raheem wants to run the show
      3.  Glen Johnson will soon be our highest earner
      4.  Oh Borini

Thank out lucky stars we are in the hat. Realistically it's down to us, mancs and arsenal to win now.

I fancy a 2-0 win at their ground. We didn't play badly, but their goalie was excellent and they defended very well.

Fans had a little sing song on Tuesday, that will do them for a few months.

Doesn't his contract end at the same time as Gerrard's?

We needed a goalscorer today. I still think that we will win at the Reebok and go through.
If we do, we will have a good shout at taking it all the way.

So Raheem Sterling has rejected the new offer. He wants £100k/week.

That is what happens when you lack quality in the squad. Those that are doing well above average begin to look like gods and they start making ridiculous demands.

      F***ing get a striker already.

Think we'll see a few more results like this one before the summer (unless Sturridge magically starts banging them in from his first game back). We really do lack firepower badly.

Performance wasn't bad though and on a day when City, Chelsea and Spurs all lost at home getting a second chance to win the tie isn't terrible. Annoying extra game but if we play like we did today I think we'll win it comfortably.

      Awful game.

Migs: 6 Didn't have much to do.

Johnson: 6 As part of a back three he did okay, wouldn't make him permanent there though. Got forward more than Manquillo.
Can: 6 Steady game again from the big German.
Sahko: 6 Couple of hairy moments on the ball, used those long legs to recover, other than decent performance.

Manquillo: 4 Only noticed he was playing once he blazed the ball wide in the first half. Anonymous.
Enrique: 4 Awful. Never an attacking fullback/wingback so long as I have a hole in my arse.

      Allen: 4
Only the misplaced passes made him noticeable, like Manquillo he was anonymous.
Henderson: 6 Decent display. But if he has the ambitions of stepping into Gerrard's boots he needs to 'up it' and offer consistent goal threat.

Coutinho: 6 Nothing really came off for him or Lallana, though kept trying.
      Lallana: 6 See Coutinho
Sterling: 4 Dire and very wasteful with it.

Not the main commentator but the 2nd commentator on the match was doing my F***ing head in. You could tell from the off he was hoping we would get done.

I wanted to throw something at the tv when with 25 mins to go ( and he kept repeating it till the final whistle) he said, I can't believe Brendan hasn't put Rickie Lambert on YET...u fucktard, we had already made our 3 subs...Lazar, Lucas and Borini.

Dumb pr**k, we don't get 4 subs you moron.

I said on the opening page thread ,seeing all the results of the earlier games, that it is a 'surprises' weekend the FA cup can offer
pity their goaolie had a great game ,and the ref ''did not see'' the foul on markovic,,, we could have buried this one yesterday
but at least we did not have the faith other top premiere clubs had, we are still in it, and we still can pass the round, I say we will at their ground with them playing more open than they did yesterday
hope Brendan  Rodgers does not play allen for lucas  in the next game ,now that he (Joe) is fit again
