Liverpool 0-0 Bolton: In game and Post Match debrief
      Jan 24, 2015 04:29:38 pm

      Anfield today

Starting XI: Mignolet, Johnson, Can, Sakho, Manquillo, Allen, Henderson, Enrique, Coutinho, Lallana, Sterling

Subs: Ward, Lovren, Lambert, Lucas, Borini, Rossiter, Markovic

Brendan Rodgers has made five changes to his Liverpool starting XI for this afternoon's FA Cup fourth round clash with Bolton Wanderers.

Glen Johnson makes his first appearance since the 3-0 defeat to Manchester United in December, having recovered from a groin injury sustained during the clash at Old Trafford.

Joe Allen picked up a knee problem in the same game - and the Welshman has not featured for the Reds since then; however, he too returns to action against Neil Lennon's side at Anfield.

Spanish duo Jose Enrique and Javier Manquillo will also face the Championship outfit, while further forward, Adam Lallana is restored to the side from the start as Steven Gerrard comes out of the matchday squad completely.

Is Lovren really that sh*t that Rodgers just doesn't trust him vs Bolton?

Would've liked to have seen Sterling rested for this, but whatever, it's only vs Bolton....

City and Chelsea losing. Spurs drawing. Mancs in a replay. Could be an easy draw coming up if we progress.

Interesting line up.  You would have thought it should be enough to get past Bolton.  I'm sure many of us will be looking to see how Johnson and Allen fit back in.

Decent line up and the changes I expected and thought we needed to make more or less.

Ah, I was hoping he could get some time playing Midfield in the cups seeing as it's his preferred position.

Also, can't complain about todays other results!  :o :o :o

Chelsea were "only" playing Bradford, City were "only" playing Middlesbrough, the mancs were "only" playing Cambridge.

And we were "only" playing Bolton, as cup holders in 1993.

This is the FA Cup. You do what you have to do to progress. Ask questions later.

Some shock results today, top 3 in prem all beaten at home in the cup, let's hope we do the job, and take nothing for granted.
Really looking forward to this, think we'll do it 2-0.

Mentally rested :) but physical aspect after an intense game vs Chelsea, I would have liked us to benched Sterling and fresh for 2nd leg.

For full disclosure, Allen never fills me with confidence when he starts.  Having said that, hope he proves me wrong.

Can't take this game lightly, I think we'll have plenty in hand to beat Bolton though.

Have to treat it the same as we did against Chelsea though, same intensity, same desire and put the tie to bed in the first half.

Be interesting to see how Allen gets on alongside Hendo, I think this might be Allen's best position but one of them has to take responsibility in getting forward too.

      Come on!

They have Heskey and Gudjohnsen up front, I'm hoping we push these as high as possible up the pitch.

Kind of a weird lineup, isn't it? A bit weak at the CB spots with Can, a midfielder, and Johnson, a fullback, playing as 2 of 3 CBs. Is Sakho going to be central or at LCB?

I'm surprised to not see a striker as well. Surely, matches like this are what Borini or Lambert are here for.

But hey, just win and lineups won't matter in a cup competition. Big teams have been there for the taking today, so we need to be on top of our game.

very confident for this one , but after the earlier results am little bit anxious now

was watching the city/middleboro game , what a game our former Ayala had, he was huge against aguero-jovetic-dzeko, well done lad
