Quality finish that, like that he's been recalled too, the boss clearly wants to assess everything and it can only be good for the lad if he's given a bit of coaching time with Jürgen.

Even if it's simply to state the goals for the lad and what he should be focussing on in terms of development.

I think he's got that little big of stardust about him this lad. We're very good at Liverpool at exulting every youngster who comes in and building them up completely unrealistically. Over the last few seasons Pacheco, Suzo, Illori, Teixera, Rossiter, Kelly, Chiravella and the like have had wholly unrealistic expectations put on their shoulders.

It's my turn now, I think this kid is good enough to be an absolute star. He's got quality in everything he does, and while he's no doubt not good enough to feature regularly in a Liverpool team for 2-3 years (very few 18 year olds are), I absolutely think he will be given time.

What I like about Kent whenever I've seen him play is his desire and fight on the pitch. I think he has a very good chance of making it with us or at the high level.

With him returning to train with Klopp during international break, I hope he impresses!

I'm intrigued and excited that Jürgen seems to have taken a shine to Ryan.

He travelled to Coventry for a night game in his first week to watch him play but he wasn't even on the bench.  This prompted the comments he made about the loan situation at the Club needing to be looked at to see if/how it's benefiting both the players and the Club.

Now he's been asked to return to train with the 1st team during the International break so he can give him the once over.  He must be over the moon.

His loan deal ends in January doesn't it? Hopefully we're still in a few cups by then, wouldn't mind seeing him get some minutes for the first team.

Doing well is the lad, great interview.

      http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/loan-coventry-city-star-ryan-10515998?

On-loan Coventry City star Ryan Kent helped by Liverpool FC heroes Steve McManaman and Robbie Fowler

Ryan Kent has already proved that he can run with the ball like Steve McManaman – and now he’s aiming to master the art of left-foot finishing exemplified by Robbie Fowler.

Kent revealed he has received specialist coaching from the two Anfield legends as Liverpool work on developing his massive potential.

And having netted just one goal in his 11 loan appearances at Coventry – a stunning right-foot swerver against Barnsley – he is particularly determined to improve his goals tally.

“I don’t mind playing anywhere along the front three,” he explained, “and I get more goals from the No.10 position. But at the moment I probably prefer playing out on the left, getting the ball, going at players one v one and cutting in on my right to shoot.

“Recently I’ve been playing more on the right but when I cut in my left-foot shooting hasn’t been as good as it has been in the past.

"I’m two-footed but I do prefer shooting with my right because I feel I’ve got more accuracy instead of lashing at it with my left and that’s definitely something I need to work on in training.

“I’ve got a lot of experience around me, especially here at Coventry, back at Liverpool and in the England camp as well. At Liverpool we had ex players coming in – Steve McManaman helped me with my dribbling and Robbie Fowler with my finishing.”

Kent was used as an impact player in Tuesday’s 0-0 draw at Bradford City, where his electrifying pace spearheaded a late push for the winner, and he accepts that he has to fight for his League One opportunities.

“Coming into a first-team environment I’ve come to terms with the fact that you’re not always going to get your own way,”he said.

“That’s a learning curve, something I’ll have to adjust to and improve – making the right decisions at the right times and picking my moments when to go one v one.

“You always want to play but I didn’t think i had my best game against Gillingham at the weekend. We’ve got a good squad and there are always players who can come in and perform well so there’s never a definite position in the team.

“I like to think I made an impact when I went on at Bradford – we needed to get that energy going forward again and I created a few chances.”

'He's faster than Gareth Bale!' - Alan and Andy on Ryan Kent

Sky Blues boss Tony Mowbray has based his tactics this year on the pace of Kent, Adam Armstrong and Jacob Murphy, explaining: “Every successful football team has speed and power in their ranks. It’s something we identified at the start of the season.

“There are time when we have to defend and we have worked hard on keeping shape behind the ball and aware that on the change of possession we can hit back with a real threat of speed going the other way.”

Speaking minutes after Tuesday’s match, Mowbray mused: “It’s an unbelievable sight watching him in full flow – have you ever seen a player travel so fast with the ball?”

And Kent is fully aware of his prime asset, explaining: “The game’s evolving and in the new generation of football you have to be so quick mentally and physically.

“All players seem to be quicker than they were in the past but you see quite a lot of players who are really quick but can’t carry the ball with them.

“I think that’s a good trait of mine to be able to travel with the ball at speed especially something I’m going to work on.”

Kent was never into sprinting (“I used to do athletics when I was younger but I never took it really seriously”) and he has no idea what about his 100m best.

But is it safe to assume the clock would read quick? “Yes,” he smiled, “I would say so...”

Yep I've been watching.  He came on and played on the right in a very physical game, and showed some nice skills and ability to get to the byline against some rugged challenges.  Looked quick and confident on the right wing.  Good lad.

We overhype our kids at Liverpool, so I might as well do it as well. I think this kids properly got it and will make a player.

surely these kids must be worth looking at compared to buying a player for £5mil and then loaning him back . Give these lads a chance they cant be any worse than some of the muppets we have paid money for.

These Coventry fans make me laugh. A few weeks ago they were praising him and saying how good he is and now...

      Quote
      "Not sure? He definitely isn't!!

Wonder now if TM will play him against Crewe. My guess is he will be on the bench."

      Quote
Not ready for pro football yet. Clearly has a lot of talent, probably 12 months too soon for him to be playing for a League 1 club.

Not one bit arsed about him going back

      Quote
I'm not convinced he is going to make it big. He had bags of skill for sure, but then so did Kevin Thornton. I think Adam Armstrong is going to go much further in the game than Ryan Kent.

Hope he does well, but I think he may not turn out to be all they think he'll be.

      Quote
Glad to see the back of him. He's all fur coat and no knickers (borrowed from Big Ron I believe about Nick Barnby).

Very very excited about this. Him, Canos, Rossiter, Chirivella and Teixeira are the ones I want to see given time to embed into our first team setup

I want to see us playing with inside wide forwards with Canos, Kent, Markovic and Ibe fighting for the 2 positions available. I don't think we need to go out and splash big on wide players, just need to fix that spine (GK, midfield and getting Ings, Sturridge and Origi fit) and give our talented young wide players an opportunity.

I found it interesting when I was on the club's website, and look into some of the academy players, they are asked who is the most skillful teammate they have. They all say it's this kid. Hopefully he will get his chance sooner rather than later.

surely we can't bring back a 19 year old kid who's yet to prive himself in league 1 just because he's talented?

he's just turned 19, he needs to develop and he'll only do that playing regularly not watching on from our bench

I'm made up for Ryan that he's been brought back early but it's great news for us fans too as this lad is special.  He might be a bit raw but that's what makes him exciting to watch, he doesn't have any fear about messing up, he just does his thing.

He has the one thing we've desperately missed this season and that's pace.  He scares defenders with it, he uses both feet too making the defenders job of trying to stop him even harder.

I'm not saying he'll be the dogs bollocks in the sense of scoring loads or even assisting loads but his abilities could help change our season for the better  :D

I'd be absolutely stunned if Teixeira makes it here. I just cannot see it happening. He's not as good as the players ahead of him and he isn't going to be given chances. He should move on for the benefit of his own career. His chances were limited under Rodgers and they appear to be under Klopp too, despite us having missed the majority of our attack at times under him.

now watch him not make a single start for us this season.

and whoever can quote me on that

Wouldn't surprise me if he didn't make a single start for us, but ideally he shouldn't have to. Maybe Exeter he should start, but other than that ideally he'll get his chances coming off the bench. I was reading a Coventry forum to see what they thought of him and the majority thought his skill was unbelievable, but were really disappointed with his end product. He should fit right in with us.

      BARNSLEY WANT KENT LOAN

Barnsley boss Paul Heckingbottom has confirmed his interest in taking Liverpool youngster Ryan Kent on loan after catching his eye during a spell with Coventry last term.

"He is a good player and he did well against us last season," the Tykes manager told the Barnsley Chronicle. "He certainly fits into the bracket of player that we are after."

Could be a good move for him and it would be good for me to get to watch him at Oakwell but I'd prefer him to stay and work with Jürgen.

Might not be a bad duo on the wings with Kent and Hammill.

Watching the first half again from yesterday, it seems, as with the Exeter Cup match last season, that his willingness and ability to run at players is his strongest asset, but his youthful tendency to hang on to it just a bit too long is his major need of improvement. As he continues developing, that improved decision-making to go with his obvious technical ability and imagination could make him quite a good player... for somebody.
