Very similar to us at Bernabeu. Lucas still managed 90% passing, despite being under press all the time. Playing for "poor" team (which West Ham were not yesterday) doesnt excuse shocking stats on the ball by Song. Ive been saying it long time that Lucas quallity on the ball is masivelly underated. These stats prove it again. Bar a couple missplaced passes, he was feeding players ahead of him with crisp accurate balls all day yesterday. Some people see a big black fella in the middle flying into tackles and think he must be better than our lad. They are just wrong. I would not mind a player with similar skill-set in the squad to give Leiva a breather. I just dont buy this sh*t about any athletic defensive midfielder being better than LL whos just fouling infront of our box. Even Matič didnt touch Lucas at Anfield.

Don't be a dick and bring race into it! I never said he was better than Lucas, I just said I would welcome his addition.

Very pleased with the way we played, the stress level throughout the game was a gift to my ageing body.
      Thanks Liverpool players :D

Always looked in control of the game, but nice for Sturridge to get the goal and make it comfortable.

      Well in lads, and BR.

Finally got to watch the whole game, Sakho, Lucas, Henderson, Sterling & Coutinho were cracking. Add a match fit Sturridge, an ever improving Markovich, Can & Skrtel forming an effective partnership with Sakho, Mignolet remembering how to play in goal, if Moreno can find a little composure when going forward, it's going to be an interesting few months.

Coutihno's skill and inch perfect passes provided both goals and his movement in-between the lines was excellent.
We've come along way since West Ham beat us 3-1 at their place and they looked knackered all over the pitch..
Great to see Big Council leader Sam whinging in to his pint of Bitter at the end, moaning about injuries picked up during the game..
Carrolls his own worst enemy. He jumps for the ball almost sideways on, with his arms n elbows all the place and then looks in all innocence at the ref when he pulls him up for giving Can a fat lip and Markovic a Tom n Jerry lump on the top of his head..
I noticed he never went near Skirtel !! ha!..

      Markovic's finishing is bad !..

      Great to see Studge back..

Whether we agree with our style of performances or not we are on a bit of a roll at the mo and with a few tough games coming up we're gonna need that confidence and belief to push on.. continuing at Bolton on Wednesday !

3 Points and leap frog the Hammers.. That'll do me..

Stewart Downing is a F***ing c**t! 'False' passion as clear as I've ever seen it from him! Face it lad you were sh*te for us, that's why you got ditched!!

Great win for us, another clean sheet in the bag, fingers crossed we can put a run together now!

Agreed. Of course he isn't better than Lucas. Right now Lucas is the best DM in the league bar none. Song would be a good back up, or even in games we really want to control, would be a good double pivot.

I think defensively that was a good performance as any under BR.

West Ham looked totally insipid and were completely shut out. Three key reasons for me the back 3 getting better with each game, Migniolet slowly showing some confidence and Lucas in the dm role.

Good to see Studge back finally that touch with his left foot to bring the ball to his right pure class worth a goal in itself.

Coutinho plays some of the sexiest football in the world now, well done lads and well done BR.

There's some kind of a chemistry going on between Stur, Sterling and Cou, as if they have been playing together for a long time. Need to get Lallana and Markovic more into the game and we would be awesome. Speed, aggression and decisiveness was what I saw right after Stur came onto the pitch. We can only get better from hereon.

I'm not going to bash Markovic, he is going to be a top player by next season. I would bet on it, he has pace and can pass very decently. He just needs to gain confidence; he is 20 years old? How can you be confident at such a young age in a team in which players cannot score with so may chances? Our movement is great but we cannot blame Markovic for not being decisive while players like Lallana, Hendo, Coutinho and other strikers rarely score.

Just pray Sturridge does not get injured until the end of the season. I cannot understand BR's management of his strikers. He has 3 strikers who he wants to keep but he does not wan to give them the opportunity to play. Where's the logic?

Coutinio was magnificent - Sterling gets all the praise, but this boy is the new superstar. Thank god he is under the radar.

the sturridge goal was like the real LFC great build up they dont touch the ball leading upto the goal with a strikers finish fantastic lets hope we smash bolton like 5-0 and take that into the derby where we should beat the bitters easily.

Coutinho, Sterling, Sturridge, Markovic, Can, Lallana, Henderson, Sakho.

Thats a great foundation for any team.  If Mignolet and Lucas improve thats 10 playing regularly together.

Got to be good. Bring in Ibe and Rossiter ......
