Chelsea 1-0 Liverpool (2-1 agg): In game and Post Match goalhunt
      Jan 27, 2015 06:37:48 pm

Stamford bridge waiting for a disaster

Starting XI: Mignolet, Can, Skrtel, Sakho, Lucas, Henderson, Moreno, Markovic, Gerrard, Coutinho, Sterling

Subs: Ward, Johnson, Lovren, Lambert, Lallana, Allen, Balotelli

Brendan Rodgers has named the same starting XI that tackled Chelsea in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final for the decisive second meeting at Stamford Bridge this evening.

The Reds were the dominant side when the two rivals met on Merseyside seven days ago, though the tie ended 1-1 following goals from Eden Hazard and Raheem Sterling.

Tonight's return will decide which team progresses to a Wembley final on March 1, and Rodgers has opted for a repeat of the line-up that deserved more than a draw last week.

That means five changes - Steven Gerrard, Lucas Leiva, Lazar Markovic, Alberto Moreno and Martin Skrtel are brought back after the FA Cup stalemate with Bolton Wanderers.

Good to know 13.5 In the Semi-Final ties, if the aggregate score is level at the end of the second game an extra half-hour shall be played. If the aggregate scores are still level at the end of extra time the tie shall be decided by goals scored away from home counting twice. If the teams remain equal after this procedure the tie shall be determined by the taking of kicks from the penalty mark in accordance with the Laws of Association Football.

Alrighty then, same XI as last week. I like it. And good to see Mario is available again, though I'd have lost it if Sturridge had been fit enough for the bench haha

With a pretty high chance of there being extra time it's no surprise to see no Sturridge. Lallana will be very important from the bench for the same reason.

This game will either be over at half time because we get over run OR will go to extra time and Mario will finally show his ability and win it for us.

I think this is the key, confidence is surely low in the Chavs dressing room after Bradford put 4 past them from 2-0 down at home, then what can the best team in England brimming with confidence do ?
