Disagree about Lazar - yeah he should have scored, but generally he was quite positive and won the ball back for us on occasion too. If there were a betting agency which took bets on this sort of thing, I would definitely put a large amount of money on him being better than all of those except Depay - who I reckon is a similar level young talent (and would have cost the same). The others all have a few years on Lazar.

depay wouldn't suit the wing back role at all, very little discipline in his game despite serious talent

Honestly wasn't expecting to win by a couple of goals and keep a clean sheet. Had a horrible feeling Downing and Carroll would haunt us.

That was another fine performance from the lads today and once again Coutinho was inspirational to say the least . It was great to see Sterling score and he took it beautifully too . All in all the team have found their mojo .

Am looking forward to Sky match choice at 10 as I've had my hands full with the little one all afternoon with the mrs away a few days. What was really nice though was being 1-0 up with 20 to play and still feeling confident we would go on to win the game given the HUGE improvements in our defending recently. Fairplay to the manager and the players. Just need a few of the other sides around and above us to drop a few points now

Anyone else just watched the game on Sky match choice? They had Tony 'West Ham' Gale doing the commentary. Now I quite like him but fook me i've never heard such biased commentary in all my life.

I know Coutinho getting most of the plaudits but I actually voted Henderson for MOM, gave us a glimpse of what our midfield will look like without Stevie and put in a hard-working display and showed off his range of passing, really impressed me. Just needs to work on his free kicks though because Stevie he is not!

Missed the game today so going to watch MOTD now to see the highlights but great to get another win and good to see the game midweek hasn't affected our league run.

Yeah, some of the sh*t he was saying was just ridiculous!!

I honestly thought we looked really good from start to finish. Our quick passes, movement off the ball, and interchanging of players was spectacular to watch. Coutinho and Sterling are really starting to link up well!! Obviously, it was great to get a goal for Studge on his return, but I was most pleased with the way he slotted straight into the team in this new system. Ibe looked good in his brief cameo too.

All in all, I think there is a lot to be positive and optimistic about as we go into the "business end" of the season.

Very very happy we won and Stur changed the whole complex of the game when he came on. More urgency in attack and direct thrust into the opposition defence. As mentioned before, we have the talent and quality to thrust direct into the opposition defence and  that's where the opponent fears us most. Great to see young Ibe doing just that without any fear instead of the usual stereotype side and back passes.

Everyone played well, not gonna single out any one here. I'm also impressed with Sakho, every ball bounced off him in the 2nd half, what is this guy made of? Rubber? Well done lads.

John I recall you going AWOL from the forum for a while and nobody slated you for not posting.

I have been AWOL at times when we win and lose. I wasn't active for the past few weeks either and we have been doing quite well, don't you think?

Now  John don't take it out on me just because the Panthers are not doing well at the nines. :f_tongueincheek: Back on topic the hammers result was good after the Chelsea and Bolton results.

:D We sent out two guys who retired last year. We'll win the comp though ;)

Just seen that Spurs and ManU won, too. Even bigger 3 points for us.

He would NOT STOP doing two things:
      A) picking on Can for anything and everything; he actually faulted him for the challenge where Carroll put an elbow in and gave him a bloody lip
      B) blaming WH's lack of creativity on not playing Downing at the "tip of the diamond"… Mentioned in about a dozen times, even using it to explain away the stray pass that fell to Markovic just before the interval

I'm also fairly positive on the guy but that was one biased commentator today
