Liverpool 2-0 West Ham: In game and Post Match debate
      Jan 31, 2015 01:59:31 pm

      Anfield waiting for our warriors

Starting XI: Mignolet, Can, Skrtel, Sakho, Henderson, Lucas, Moreno, Markovic, Lallana, Coutinho, Sterling

Subs: Ward, Johnson, Lambert, Sturridge, Allen, Borini, Ibe

Adam Lallana replaces Steven Gerrard in the single change to the Liverpool line-up for today's clash with West Ham United – and Daniel Sturridge returns to the squad as a substitute.

Brendan Rodgers has opted for one alteration to the XI that started at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, with the captain not included in the 18 for this Barclays Premier League fixture.

Jordan Henderson therefore takes the armband to tackle the Hammers and Gerrard must wait to make his 700th club appearance. Lallana joins Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling in attack.

Notably, Sturridge is named on the bench as he approaches a first run-out for the Reds since last August. There are spots for Fabio Borini and Jordon Ibe too.

I like that team great to see Sturridge on the bench. Could be in trouble if we lose a centre half to injury though

Is the skipper not fit then? If he isn't it's bloody stupid to leave him out of the squad. Great to see Sakho in the team and Studge on the bench. Also excited to see if Ibe gets a run out today

I agree, Stevie is a match winner and should always be on the bench if not starting.... unless he's injured :(

If we're comfortable with 30 to go, I'd rather Studge stay on the bench

Then again, if it's tight, it might be the right time to unleash him

      Rather the opposite.

Hope we're up by 2 or 3 so Sturridge can come on without pressure.

If we're relying on him to make the difference after so long out, we might be in trouble.

And where is Stevie? Very odd. Seems as though since he's made his decision to leave, Brendan has felt like he can leave him out.

Saving Gerrard for the Bolton game I assume. Good to see Balotelli nowhere near the squad as well.

Markovic, Moreno, Coutinho and Sterling all to run riot today.

There pace will be too much for West Ham and with Lucas and Hendo bossing the midfield i feel we will be dominant.

Just need to be clinical in taking our chances.

Made up to see Studge back.... Here we fecking go. Would imagine he will be off the pace for the 1st few games... so in effect he will be only 10 times the footie players of our other three shambles combined.

I can see him being a lift mentally to the other players knowing there's a striker of that quality on the pitch.

I'm 22, shoddy knees, bunged hip, dodgy hamstrings and i would need a ventilator after 10 minutes. Stevie has me well and truly covered in that department (and every other).
