Tommy Lawrence makes a come back.
      Feb 06, 2015 10:14:17 pm
This evening BBC Northwest had an article about the last time Liverpool played Everton on a Saturday evening.

It was apparently in front of 100,000 spectators, helped by the fact that big screens were put up in Anfield.

The reporter was out and about asking people if then remembered the game when he asked an elderly gentleman if he remember the game.

Saw that mate and yeah what are the odds?  The reporter was a bit taken aback when he said he'd played in the game, think he thought he was taking the piss till he said who he was.

      The match in question:

I was at that match and well remember that little sod Ball scoring that goal, I was stuck among a crowd of Everton supporters(those were days when Red and Blue were never threatened by each other) and believe me I felt deflated. I have posted on this match and the fact I was at Goodison in a post many moons ago. It was a cold miserable day. Good to see Tommy Lawrence is still ok,he has lost a lot of weight though but he is still recognisable.

Just thinking about that match and it was a match that the mighty Emlyn Hughes was cup tied for and could not play. We had not long bought him from Blackpool and he had replaced Gordon Milne in the first team, Milne played against Everton and a lot of people thought he was the weak link.
Back on topic to Tommy Lawrence, I do not think he could be faulted  for the Ball goal.

      Absolutely fantastic clip,
For all the people to bump in to amongst the hundreds that were in the vicinity, is it a omen, or do 'pigs fly'?,
Wouldn't it be fantastic if Tommy was guest of honour for tonight's game, but I guess it's probably too late now,

      God Bless Tommy

I can't stop looking at that video, it brings back so many memories of Tommy Lawrence and L.F.C. matches against Everton.

Incredible :). Read a comment on the video and it stood out for me : "Met Tommy at Anfield a few years ago. Was lucky to be on a Corporate package and he was there with his wife. Really nice bloke. Asked him about Shanks and his response "he was a complete nutter!". He also said defending a corner in front of the Kop in a big game, the crowd noise was so deafening, he'd have Ron Yeats a few feet away screaming at him and he couldn't hear a word he was saying."

Shankly "Don't worry Son its not your fault, it was your Mother who should have kept her legs closed"

I wonder what Bill Shankly would of said to Mignolet the first half of this season.

Thought it was great to see Tommy pop up in that interview, I must admit I did not recognise him at first. It certainly  was a surprise for the reporter.
