if anyone is allowed to voice their opinion its Steven Gerrard. Im not up his arse on this becuase he is who he is, Im backing him becuase he is right!
His judgement was spot on.... Mario's on the other hand was not!
He pen was a good'un I may add, but that isnt the point!
What if he decides he want to take goal kicks off of Simon because he feels confident?
What this debate was lacking till now was a bit of silly comments and now we've got them.
1. What Balo was absolutely the right thing, he knew he was the best penalty taker on the pitch and had only one aim, to get that absolutely crucial goal. We need such confident players if we are to progress further who don't hide away. Remember the guy has been under so much scrutiny and it spoke volumes of his character..
2. If Hendo had full conviction about taking it, he should have made his point strongly and told Balo he will be taking it. For me he handled the situation well during that time and after the incident too.
3. Sturridge's actions were not in good taste and he looked like a trouble maker. He should have kept out of it as he was not competing for it.
4. Gerrard's ego is hurt and it shows from his celebrations and now these comments. He is an absolute legend and should behave like one. He talks about locker room rules and then goes ahead and breaks one.
