Why wound a Championship level player be ideal to have in midfield in an important away European cup competition fixture?

To put in a shift in absense of Lucas and Henderson, like Jay has done many a time for us - even in an important away European cup competition fixture. So we would not need to tinker with a stable defense pushing Can further up or throw an inexperienced youngster in at the deep end.

This is now an even tougher scenario with the injuries and resting of particular players. Brendan has a few very big decisions to make. Does he attempt to change the Back 3 even more than needed by pushing Can up to CM? If he stays in the back, who partners Allen? Young Williams? Could Lallana squeeze in there and parallel Hendo's energy? If so, do we leave Sterling behind 2 up front? It will be interesting to see how he plays this. I just hope we do not see Johnson in the starting lineup.

I know we are carrying a lot if injuries into this game, but I feel confident we will be able to get the result we need to advance. I fancy us to get an away goal that will effectively clinch progression for us. Sterling and Studge on the counter will be too much for them to handle.

I agree. Hope Can has a good game. The last time I seen him in midfield he was a bit dodgey, bit slow on the turn. Kolo hasnt been with the team for a while so thats another worry with this shake-up. Sturridge will score anyway so I woudlnt be upset about wobbly performance with experimental line-up. Bring it on
