Seeing as though we have to qualify, group stages is just a dream at the moment.

5 Times European Cup winners having to qualify for the Europa league, how F***ing embarassing.....!!

If Villa get beaten on Saturday, we are in the Group stages.

I have no idea why people think we have to win too many matches to reach the final of EL. Compared to UCL, we only need to win ONE extra (home and away) tie in play-offs in order to win the Europa League.

two extra games in a season can mean a lot - see all our cup replays this season. plus it depends how early you enter the competition, you could have to play an extra four or six games.

Would give anything to be Sevilla right now, I wanted us to be the team with most Europa cups, and 5 European cups.

I say yes if we go in with the attitude that we want to win it, if we go in with a couldn't care less if we lose then its a no.

If Arsenal win the FA Cup - we go in at the group stage.  Draw is August 28th, first group game is 17th September.

If Villa win the FA Cup - we go in at the 3rd qualifying round. Draw is July 17, legs of 3rd round are July 30, August 6th. Draw for 4th qualifying round is August 7th, games are 20th and 27th August.

Premier League kicks off 8th August - so our first game would likely be on the Monday.

We should be looking at the attitude of Sevilla here. They have always treated the tournament with the utmost respect and have ended up as 4 times winners now, with entry to CL to boot. Just think, if BR hadn't pissed about in every European game this season, we could have had a realistic chance of a 4th EUFA cup.

The fact the EL is essentially fighting above our weight makes any question of CL qualification farcical.

Shocking, but as I said b4 2 different owners in that time, 3 different managers.

Just shows we were doing very well in Europe with Gerard Houlier and the Rafa.

I say big yes and try and win it at the cost of both english cups, play strongest team in Europe and weakend team in domestic cups. I know that's mad to say but atleast at the early stages play weakend team for domestic. The reason i say this is the winner gets a CL place and that might be our only hope until this bunch start to gel and push on because with the current squad i dont see us getting top 4. Sterling will be off in the summer and we will struggle to attract proven top players without CL football so wining in Europe is a big statement. I mean we are not even in pot 1 anymore as we've been rubbish in Europe since 2006 so we need to get semi final or win the thing to get us back as a force in Europe to attract top players.

Rubbish in Europe since 2006? Have you forgotten we were in the final of the CL in 2007? Or the semis the following season?
