      Yes.

With a new manager. Lets go for another trophy.

No. With Rodgers. He cant hack two games a week and it would be another embarrassment again.

I think the club should have the choice to play in the Europa league. Or else they need to change the structure so as not to play so many games.

If we get to qualify for Europa, I say we give it our best shot.

Provides opportunities to test the squad too.

Not sure if it's worth it unless we reinforce considerably.
Could be very embarrassing with the current squad, which then lessens the chance of attracting better players, rather than enhancing it.
But they all want to play in Europe, so let's go for it !

A resounding HELL YEAH! F**k me, I'm pretty sure someone very special to this Club said "We exist to win Trophies".

Can't believe we are even debating it.

Yes, we are not in the position to turn away any opportunities for trophies or European experience.

The truth is the competition (for whatever reason) appears to have a negative effect on the league form of just about every English team that ever enters it so I can understand why people might look back to last season (and the mancs this year) and see the benefits of not being in it. However, we need t playing in Europe if we are recruit the players we need this summer.

If we regularly got to the QF/SF of teh Europa league we would have more money, the squad would get more experience etc. Of course we need to prioritise the EL if we are in it.

isn't it well known that even making the final of the europa league gives you bugger all cash?

and how valuable is that experience, really, if we're forced to play the same team in every competition and they get fatigued and injured and we end up bowing out of all comps with a scrapped together XI every week? sound familiar? we already went through that this season.

i'm against participating in the europa league when we aren't in a good enough position to handle it. you can't expect us to get a better place in the league next season if you continue with this "we're Liverpool just bring it on we can handle it" attitude.. I mean it's a great attitude in theory but without a bit of perspective it's just going to lead you into frustration.

I think the extra games you play bring in more cash, not the prize pool. Secondly, if we are going to get into the CL and get bundled out just as quickly then one way to stop this is to get experience playing european teams more regularly. Learning how to play them. We don't have experienced superstarts we have mostly talented youngsters, surely this is valuabel experience for them. The manager should be able to manage the squad we have for EL participation and get them up for the league. I would have thought this would be a primary objective in choosing a manager europe and the league, whether its the EL or CL.

but even if you play every game right up to the final you make F**k all cash. playing 15 extra games to F**k up your domestic season (and domestic cup runs - which is a whole other issue, 3 cup competitions and the league with 1 small squad) isn't worth it at all UNLESS we get a fourth UEFA cup at the end of it, and that's only a consolation prize.

the FA cup and league cup make everything that much more difficult. BR wants to win a trophy and if this year is any indication will try to win any competition he's in. again, if we try this with our small squad we are just fu**ed.

Not entirely considering the winner gets CL qualification. Personally it seems easier to CL qualification by resting your squad in the league and winning the EL.

Yes, but only if a large proportion of our youth academy are given a chance.

      100% yes.
Don't make excuses and go all in for silverware.
We have to start putting in place a winning mentality.
To say no to competing in the Europa League is to be deluded, close minded and not about what a proper club is supposed to do....WIN TROPHIES

How many of you know the final is on now.

      I didn't until I scanned the channels.

This competition is dead.  Still want to win it though.

I have no idea why people think we have to win too many matches to reach the final of EL. Compared to UCL, we only need to win ONE extra (home and away) tie in play-offs in order to win the Europa League.
