Karius...man he is cool as a cucumber ....interview he is like "It's what I do, It's why I am here"

      Oozzes confidence.

It's what good goalies do in my opinion. You think of the likes of Neuer, Buffon, Cech they exude that self assurance. Some times of course it's bravado but with Karius I do believe has the talent to back up his self-confidence.

All positions and players perform better when they have a certain level of belief in themselves but I've always felt it has the biggest impact on a strikers and keepers, or perhaps it's just more noticeable, great to see; good interview.

On the topic of Huddersfield, some of their fans were hoping for a play-off position push but their finishing leaves a lot to be desired. They need a much stronger strike force/creative unit to get there.

Yeah I agree mate. Thought their system looked tailor made for a main striker who scores goals. Think they will find it difficult if they don't find one.

Good first half. The pressing was pretty solid from our side. Grujić seemed pretty composed and up to physical challenge, I'm impressed with him so far. Pretty solid win despite inconvincible second half.

They usually have Nakhi Wells and whilst he is decent for them (think he got 17 in the league last year) the rest of their attack was pretty feeble. They also have problems on the right side of their defence. I expect them to finish around mid-table but in the bottom half.

It seems Moreno still hasn't learnt anything from last season, he is too rash and impatient :(

Now now, there was a moment in the first half were he made a clearance with his right foot.

Small steps and all that. But booooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooo should of give the pen to Shamal

Decent little run out for the lads before we F**k off to the US, could of been three up in the first half with Grujic and Mane impressing, did alright in the second until Lucas got injured. Thought Stewart stood out especially in the second half when under pressure, did his job well.

Klopp on Huddersfield win, George cameo and US trip

After watching Liverpool defeat Huddersfield Town 2-0 on Wednesday evening, Jürgen Klopp reflected on another successful pre-season outing, the efforts of stand-in outfielder Shamal George and the club's upcoming trip to the United States - read on for a full transcript.

No goals conceded, ten scored - happy with that?

The game was different. In the first half we should have scored more - maybe we [did] score more with the second goal disallowed and then we missed a penalty and had a few chances. We played some wonderful combinations so it was really good. But I was not too happy with the first 20 minutes, with the concentration level we showed. It's not bad, of course not, when you are 1-0 in the lead against a Championship then it's not bad. But if we trust a little too much in our skills, it's not the best decision to make. The second half was a little bit lively and we were under pressure. Then, unfortunately the injury of Lucas [meant] we changed the formation to have Shamal as a striker - he did wonderful - and we scored a second goal. That was okay, defending a little bit deeper we have to do it, and it was really hard for the players.

Whose idea was it [to bring Shamal on]?

They told me from the bench after I'd organised the system with 10 [men] and they said, 'Come on, we have have Shamal!'

Alberto should have given him the penalty at the end there, shouldn't he?

Even though it doesn't look like it all the time, for us these games are quite serious, so we don't want to make a joke of it! It's nice for the crowd but in no game in the world should we make funny decisions. If it's 4-0, 5-0, we can think about it, but even then it's a lack of respect for the opponent.

Will the training strategy change in America compared to the home friendlies? These seem to have been treated as warm-ups, whereas you’ll be playing better opposition in the US?

No, it’s a good chance for us to bring our two groups together. Some have trained for three weeks, four weeks, five weeks, one week - so it’s difficult to bring our fitness levels together. In our first friendly game in the US I think we’ll have 15 or 16 players who could play 90 minutes then we’ll see how the English boys, the Welsh boys and so on are and make a decision. The coaches will have a lot of work with the different groups in how they play and train, but that’s how it is, it’s no problem. That’s the good thing with a training camp, you have nothing else to do. We’ve organised it very well so we can be fully concentrated on the things we have to do.

Cheers for the link. Mane looked sharp, maybe just missing bit of composure in the finishes. Surprised to see Moreno taking a peno, but nice finish :)

I was at this match this evening. Good night of football - some good performances across the field. Shout out to Ejaria - looks so cool and competent for someone most of us didn't know much of a couple of weeks ago. Grujic looks like something in the making. Pretty much an asset from front to back. Sweet striker, good defender at set pieces. Onwards to the USA!

Just watched the match and this is how I saw it. Ejaria looks very good and Grujic couldn't be doing anymore than he is right now.

Shamal George coming on as a striker was brilliant :lmao:
