Liverpool 2-0 Newcastle United: In game and Post Match debate
      Apr 13, 2015 07:00:13 pm

Anfield today waiting for our improve form

Liverpool  arrives at Anfield eight hours ahead of Monday night's match at Anfield

Starting XI: Mignolet, Johnson, Can, Lovren, Moreno, Allen, Lucas, Henderson, Ibe, Coutinho, Sterling

Subs: Jones, Toure, Lambert, Manquillo, Borini, Brannagan, Markovic

Brendan Rodgers welcomes Jordon Ibe and Emre Can back into his Liverpool starting XI for tonight's Barclays Premier League clash with Newcastle United at Anfield.

Ibe is set to play his first minutes since the Reds' Europa League defeat to Besiktas at the Ataturk Stadium on February 26. He comes in to replace Daniel Sturridge.

Can was dismissed for a second bookable offence against Arsenal in the Reds' last league outing - and, having served his one-match suspension against Blackburn Rovers last week, the German returns to replace Mamadou Sakho.

Neither Sakho nor Sturridge have been named amongst the substitutes. Meanwhile, Cameron Brannagan keeps his place on the bench for a third consecutive outing.

Not happy with that team I would rather he plays an out and out forward even if that forward is borini.

      Same :(

And the midfield.. Lucas, Allen and Henderson, argh, we're playing at home, no need for that midfield trio :(

I very happy with that team to be honest. Sturridge has not been himself for a while but hope that Sterling has the killer instinct on!

Please tell me this is a 4-3-3 with Can playing center back and NOT 3-4-2-1 with Hendo as RWB and Cou-Ibe behind Sterling

It's insulting that Tim Howard gets to stand on that pitch and I can't. And he's insulting Anfield. Christ I hate that blueshit.

Happy with Raheem up top, it's the most dangerous we have looked all season, remember against Chelsea in the League Cup.

      I like it.

Can and Lovren as a pair is a bold move.

Daniel Sturridge has been ruled out of tonight's game with @NUFC due to the knock he sustained at Blackburn last week. Lfc twitter confirms :(

Excellent team. I see another Mignolet clean sheet and a few goals scored. Hope its not too soon for Ibe, lad should be eased in after a longish lay-off. 3:0 Henderson, Moreno, Markovič.

Bold. Yes. But somehow a Can-Lovren pairing looks a bit dodgy! Is it gonna something like this..?

      Migs
      Johnson-Lovren-Can
      Lucas
      Hendo - Allen
           Ibe       -           Moreno

Could quite easily be a back four or back three. Hoping its the former, but this is Newcastle. We should wipe them regardless.
