Liverpool 1-3 Crystal Palace: In game and post match implosion
      May 16, 2015 04:29:55 pm

Anfield welcomes Super Captain Gerrard for the last time

Big ovation for the captain as the Liverpool team coach arrives at Anfield.

      Gerrard's testimonial

      Balotelli's letter

Starting XI: Mignolet, Can, Skrtel, Lovren, Moreno, Gerrard, Henderson, Lallana, Coutinho, Ibe, Sterling

Subs: Ward, Johnson, Toure, Lambert, Lucas, Allen, Sinclair

Brendan Rodgers' starting line-up to face Crystal Palace in Steven Gerrard's final Anfield appearance this evening shows two changes.

The captain will bid farewell to the ground he has called home for 17 years as the Reds tackle their penultimate fixture of the Barclays Premier League season.

For the game, Jordon Ibe and Alberto Moreno are named in the XI - replacing Rickie Lambert and Glen Johnson from the side that took on Chelsea.

The latter pair join the substitutes today, with young striker Jerome Sinclair retaining his place on the bench.

Thank you Steven Gerrard for all memories, hope this is just an end of chapter rather than the book.

Spot on Crouchino, I could feel myself welling up after seeing Clints build up pics.
The final whistle should see a few tears released, this is really going to hit home today!

      This.

I haven't even been a supporter for Gerrards entire career but he's been the only Captain I've ever known and he epitomizes this club and what it means to so many. He's just pure class and he will never be able to be replaced. One of a kind.

      Fantastic work Clint,

I must admit ppl, I've shed some tears already, it's a funny old feeling isn't it, mixed with sadness yet when you see footage of the goals he has scored it fills you with pride, I have to be honest i don't think I've ever felt this way for any other player making his final home bow, or on any occasion for that matter,

Reading all those accolades from past greats and legends from all over the world emphasises just what a special and brilliant player he has been,

      Steven Gerrard = LEGEND

This is Stevie's day, 3 pts would be the icing on the cake along with an hat trick of pens from the great man himself!
Next season will need a massive input from all concerned to fill the void he's leaving behind him!

Think it's a bit too noisy for Gerrard's youngest, either that or she doesn't like certain words in the song :D

Palace have put out a team that we should be beating, there can be no excuses for failing to deliver the 3 points today.
