      Can't argue with that Swab.

My only issue is integration of so many players.

I was going to reply here mate, but there's been so many changes that I think I'll have to make a new thread.

Liverpool are expected to complete a structured £15m deal to sign Southampton's Nathaniel Clyne in the early part of next week, according to Sky sources.

The clubs are still in negotiations over an agreement that will include a £12.5m up-front transfer fee and additional payments based on certain conditions that would eventually be met by the player.

Not that I really bother but thought the total including add-ons was £12.5m. NO?!

That's my only fear as well.

Brendan doesn't have a great track record when he has lots of players to work with and less time on tbr training ground.

That's my big issue too srslfc. This is why i hope we get the right coaching staff in this time. As you are aware, my main reason for giving Brendan another Season was to blend the signings who had a Season under their belts.

We can't keep signing 7 or 8 players every single Season and expecting it to work, it won't. I'm hoping that Brendan really was struggling to work with Pascoe because if he wasn't, then it doesn't matter who we get in to assist him.

You know my stance on his 'lack of training' time excuse, it's complete bullshit and an excuse for his failure last Season. He has to man up and deal with this situation and be prepared to trust the new staff that come in to help him. If he doesn't then he is gone. That is for sure.

Hopefully he'll learn from these mistakes and take some advice of people with more experience of the game than he has. Nobody can know everything. One thing i will say though, if we can sign 2 more top quality players we will be there or thereabouts come next May.

Fingers crossed. It'd be a complete and utter waste.

I hope that Can doesn't become Rodger's Kuyt.

£12 million - you cannot say fairer than that. If he didn't have just a year on his contract left, we'd be paying, what, closer to £20 million? Or at least £20 million.

Considering we got Johnson for a much more hefty price 6 years ago, and considering the market has inflated considerably since then, it's a steal.

The thing about a forum is you can say what you want on it. They don't have to apologise if they don't want mate.

True. He prefers RB supposedly, but yeah he's a solid LB as he showed last year.
But he wont be available til later in the season, so if Enrique is still a doubt that would leave us with just Moreno.
If Enrique is fit, then I would stick with giving Moreno a go, with Jose as back up/competition.
If he's not 100% then we could do with a LB.

Big admirer of his. Have been for a few seasons. He'll take ours and the England right back slot for years to come.

I wouldn't be so sure of that with Woy in charge. On one hand he says Clyne has played well for a while but that he doesn't deserve to walk into the team because Jones is a top quality player :lmao:

With this lad reported to be signing tomorrow think we can all rejoice in having someone who will actually put in the tackles. Averaged 3.3 tackles per 90 last season, I believe I read somewhere that is the highest in the entire league and something we were truly lacking when we didn't have Lucas in the side.

Think he'll be an enormous upgrade for us from playing an out of position Can or Johnson, really will be a great signing in my opinion. Even more so as the lad is only 24 and English, meaning £12.5m seems very cheap to be honest.

Still surprised we managed to pull this off for so little. Really shocked the likes of Chelsea, Man city and Utd didn't jump in for him.

My brother is a ManU fan. Told me at the beginning of the window his main focus was Clyne since RB was a problem area for them. Was pissed when he heard the fee was 12.5M and that his club did not go in for him at that price. I have to think we stole Clyne from under a few of their noses.
