Yeah this has got to be one of the most anticipated games ever, with perhaps the exception of HL3.
And what's better is it looks like it could possibly even be a 2015 4th quarter release.   :gt-happyup:

Never played a Fallout game before, thinking of getting it around January/February after watching reviews, plus  No Man's Sky (super excited about this), Battlefront and Assassins Creed Syndicate all in Q4.

The other Fallout games are massive and it'll turn you into a kleptomaniac, brill games. You might as well get them for peanuts because the modding community has so much content, I liked them (Fallout 3 and new vegas) because they reminded me of Mad Max mixed with the Dark Tower by Stephen king.
i.e Cowboy/gunslinger times combined with technology from a world moved on after a monumental event.
Plus the graphics are really good on the two games I've played.
Mod them though. nexus mods is the place to go, need any pointers (modding); I'll check back.

I absolutely love this game. Never been a huge fan of open world exploring but this has me hooked.

Just started this game and finding the change of pace between the brilliant Witcher 3 and this a little hard to manage. Not finding building things too interesting (or too easy) at the moment but I presume that will come with practise. Similarly collecting every piece of junk in the wasteland seems one step too far (if I wanted to collect rubbish I would have been a bin man :) )

Still struggling with the different guns ... not sure which is the best for my personal preferences yet.

Loved Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas so I am hoping once I get further into this one I will love this too.

Stick with it. Takes a while to get the perks you need. Crafting guns and armour is good and you can tag materials you need so you don't need to pick up everything. You can also give loads of items to your companion which really helps.

Put in quite a few hours now mate. Still don't enjoy building things, but love the game. Settled on a Combat rifle and souped up combat shotgun as my go to weapons, with souped up combat armour to match. (dont like melee , energy weapons, big guns or power armour, only wore power armour to get to Virgil and had to use big guns at the Castle.) Needless to say I have died a few times :) Level 27 now and trying to follow that bloody freedom trail with Nick.

Found most of the quests a bit shallow, but the action more than makes up for it. Much better companions than Fallout 3 and New Vegas, although the command system especially for settlers is crap... "Do you want to trade?" ... no I want you to go here!..."Do you want to trade?" :f_steam:

Not quite the 10/10 game that I thought Witcher 3 was, but a solid 8/10 so far.

I f*cked up with my perks mate, I realized that I should have went with agility more than I did with intelligence and luck! Took a hunting rifle and made it into a bad ass sniper :D

Very good game so far, more difficult than fallout 3 if I remember. Yeh I agree about the quests, basically just go there kill people and your quest is done.

Intelligence is a good one to take mate as you level up much quicker. I tend to not put much in to charisma. Means you get ripped off when you sell stuff and no one likes you.... but I am used to that :)

On my second play through now, Level 64 so basically maxed out all my stats bar Charisma and Luck.

Only really two things I don't like about the game... Building stuff and the "radiant quests," sick of clearing The National Guard training etc etc time after bloody time. I was hoping the side quests would take me to new and interesting places rather than the same five or 6 places over and over again by all the factions.

First play through I was a little wary of exploring too much in case I "broke"quests, but they seem to have that covered, so this time I have done a lot more wandering and aimlessly killing things.

Good game though and I like the companions and the fact that you can change them when they start to irritate after a while.

Best gun for me is the "Overseers protector" Combat Rifle when souped up it gives incredible damage and with a silencer on they never hear it coming (buy it at one of the vaults). I have the Alien Blaster and the Artifact gun but haven't used them ... they just weigh me down as I can't bear to sell them :D

Truthfully not a patch on Witcher 3, but a great way to "kill" an hour or two.

I'm curious about building part, but it's difficult if you have no experience with minecraft :P. I mean nothing works!

Yeh I agree about the quests, I already cleared the national guard place but then they asked me to do it again! I'm still at lvl 16, my endurance is so bad it's still at level 1 so no wonder I die quickly :D

I just build the same things at every settlement. Broadcast tower, small generator, 4 or 5 turrets, enough beds to keep 'em happy, 3 water pumps and plant them some food. Rest is up to them :)

Do a few jobs for P.A.M. at the Railroad and then get some ballistic fibre. You can make clothes such as army fatigues and hats into 110 damage resistance armour. Which you can then wear under your Combat armour. Then you can stand in front of mini guns and just laugh... for a few seconds anyway :)
