Disgraceful way to treat a loyal player, shame on you the Liverpool board

Seems they can’t win - if he was offered a new contract then you likes of you would be crying about giving a 37 year old a new contract

Not surprising. They did the same thing to Gini Wijnaldum.

Players who have contributed f*ck all get new contracts or new contracts offered.

You get the impression Bobby was probably told and treated the same. His contract should have been sorted long ago. Absolute shambles this club is and 4 players walking out for free , 2 internationals in their 20s ffs, Bob at 30 who is still a quality footballer who will be courted by top clubs and a loyal servant like milner just sums it up.

Which players who have contributed “F**k all” have been offered new contracts?

And Bobby was the one who decided he was going to leave and not sign a new contract

Reading he and Klopp wanted to stay another year. Club wouldn't sanction it.

If you agree with that or disagree with that you wouldn't want Fenway making on field decisions that go against our managers wishes

Absolutely. He should have been at least offered a one year deal. Sounds like he was open to it as was Klopp.

It's everything Milner brings to the table that makes him a valuable asset and one that deserved better. Klopp knew that. The berks running this club however .....

I'm glad he didn't pull any punches and be diplomatic.

We will need to make sure the culture isn't effected by his departure. By all accounts Milner was one that ensured standards and discipline was maintained.

Absolutely devoid of empathy, conscience and any sense of fair play!

People like you are just looking for anything to use to beat the club with

If we had extended his contract then there is no doubt people would be criticising the club for extending a 37/38 year olds contract

      The club will never win

Those wages being freed up will now help the club bring in fresher legs to improve the squad

Milner was superb for us and was massively underrated by many

He will now have a good swansong for a season at somewhere like Brighton

The club always used to use the skills of players like Milner in a coaching role or similar, 'people like me' is just a dismissive attitude used in an attempt to ignore criticism of an objectionable process.

Irrespective of your much vaunted economic strategy even with the best manager in the world we only achieved 5th placing in the league!

but where is JĂźrgen in this if he didnt want him fair play but if he did and didn't stand up for him thats not good .
I would have though he was in line for being a future member of the coaching staff with a massive advantage of being with the club for so long.
This summer is going to be very telling for the future of the club.

Maybe he doesn’t want to move into coaching yet and not sure on this “club always used the players for coaching etc”

Majority either leave or retire from football totally

It looks like Milner wants to continue to play as much as he can and he won’t do that with us

It’s time to move. Not sure what’s this nonsense about “fair play”

Think JĂźrgen is snowed under mate with all the comings and goings right now, Milner does have an outstanding CV but while he can still play first team football his retirement plans will be on hold.

What on earth would you want us to do?

He obviously wants to keep on playing so makes zero sense to keep him here on that huge salary to sit on the bench more often then not.

Sounds like JĂźrgen wanted him to stay. I think there was probably a compromise to be made to keep him around surely? Doesn't appear that the club even made an attempt. I mean offer him a one year deal with a lower salary and if he doesn't want it, then so be it. Maybe they did that but from his quotes it doesn't sound like it.

Made sense if he wanted more playing time. You can't keep them on indefinitely. He will no doubt be very welcome back if he needs experience as a coach at some point -- definitely the type of guy the club should look to continue to cultivate a relationship with for the future. Even as a kit man he would be the best kit man there is. Clean, tidy and on-time without fail.
