James Milner has been an incredible signing for LFC, and served us for 8 years! During that time he has been ever dependable as we've been crowned the Champions of England, Champions of Europe and Champions of the World, picking up every trophy possible.

The Boss said, "I said a couple of times nothing positive that happened in the last seven and a half years would have happened without James Milner." This is the highest possible accolade.

To mark this unsung hero and legend of our football club, he deserves a song better than "There's only 1 James Milner".

Thus we have come up with a fitting song for Millie...
To the tune of Kaiser Chiefs, "Ruby".

Millie, Millie, Millie, Millie - we think he's Jürgen's daa,
Millie, Millie, Millie, Millie - he tackles very hard,
Millie, Millie, Millie, Millie - he's on a yellow card,
Millie, Millie, Millie, Millie - he likes a Ribe-na... na-na!

He has won everything to win his ambitions now lye in the most games played etc so good luck to him. Would be happy for him to have taken a coaching role but we need to rebuild and start a new era.

Puts to bed the talk that Klopp had all the power now.
Milner the greatest free transfer and a role model for every young player.
A shame he wasn't kept around in some capacity, no doubt though he still wants to play.

Definitely gives the Summer a rebuild or Klopp 2.0 feel for the squad.
Now Klopp needs to be funded to allow it.

TO BE FAIR. Based on his wording, that is also still a possible scenario here.

There was an offer on the table. He wanted more. The club weren't willing to offer more. Klopp wants him to stay, but he decides to leave because he doesn't like the offer from the club.

Does any manager have all the power in player contract offers?

THink Milly wants to get as much football in as possible and his opportunities will be less next season.

Yea but sounds like klopp wanted him to stay and milly wanted to stay, but the club said no.

But as mentioned above, maybe the clubs offer was not ok for milly. His wording was not so clear.

Either way, im sure he would be welcomed back in the future as a coach if he wanted too.

He's 14 games behind Giggs and 34 games behind Gareth Barry on the all time PL appearance list. He probably wants a 2 year contract at a club in the PL. Brighton is a good option for him. With 5 subs and European games he could get a lot of substitute appearances in the second half. He should be able to get above Barry if he can keep playing for 2 years.

If he stays with us he would be lucky to get 5-10 appearances in the league, assuming we buy some decent midfielders and can keep Ramsey fit as a back up RB. He'd probably get some cup games but I think it's probably PL appearances he wants.

Not surprising. They did the same thing to Gini Wijnaldum.

Players who have contributed f*ck all get new contracts or new contracts offered.

You get the impression Bobby was probably told and treated the same. His contract should have been sorted long ago. Absolute shambles this club is and 4 players walking out for free , 2 internationals in their 20s ffs, Bob at 30 who is still a quality footballer who will be courted by top clubs and a loyal servant like milner just sums it up.
