Apologies to doubt what-a-hit-son, it's just been reported on the Echo too.

Well, it looks as if the concerns about inexperience in the backroom staff have been going on in the board room too. More importantly, who takes up the positions?

Both posts are probably up in the job centres for minimum wage.

They aren't arsed about the committee. Committee saves them money.

They seem to be looking at trying to improve on the pitch whilst keeping the save money team in.

      Excellent news!

Makes the Mike Marsh sacking look less like a sacrificial lamb now I have to admit. Depending who they get in this could be a big step in the right direction, personally I'd love someone like Carragher, as much as his experience in coaching is obviously non-existent his knowledge of the game is immense. He's exactly what we need to sort out our defence and a strong voice who would not be afraid to challenge Brendan.

Carra with Hyppia behind him, could we dream of such a combination?

I don't think I've ever seen a case where the assistant manager and 1st team coach are sacked but not the manager.

I've heard strong talk around today regarding both Sami and Zenden

Whether that's just talk I don't know but I certainly feel that we need an opposing view to Brendan's in the dressing room and training and someone who will stand up and give that view to him.

I'd love Carra as Assistant Manager. Bit of iron and respect. Him and an experienced coach who can work a defence would be very positive.

Wow. I didn't see this coming at all. Hopefully we try to improve these positions at all cost and don't go for youth with potential  :f_tongueincheek:

Sami has managed Leverkusen and Brighton but what about Zenden? Has he had any jobs in football since retiring? Does anyone know?

Carra great scouser that he is has absolutely no coaching experience. Would have been great if he stayed on and gained experienced but not at this moment in time.

If we are looking to improve in our back room coaching staff then it needs to be people with experience.

Wasn't he Rafa's assistant at the chavs?

Apart from that I'm not sure

I agree. Plus I think Carra seems to be happy with his gig right now.

Sami though...that seems like a perfect fit. Of course, it needs to be someone that while providing a counter balance to Brendan, can also work with (and under) Brendan.

Carra as assistant? Yes he would gain the respect of players of course, but when we're all shouting out for experience, we really think that's an ideal appointment? Not for me sadly.

He needs to get out of the Sky studio and on to some serious coaching, this should be a meritocracy and we are only asking for trouble by asking former legends with no hint of coaching experience to come in.

He, like Gerrard, needs to gain experience and prove they are quality coaches at other clubs before even being considered for such a post.
