Scored a hat-trick in the U23s and has to be pushing for a place on the bench.

Keep going Ings lad, right attitude, making the boss' choice really difficult is all you can do.

I think he's a proper player clearly way too good for u23 level but so hard to see how he plays in front of Sturridge and Origi...apparently a bid of £20M was rejected for him in the summer so Klopp clearly sees something in him. Maybe a loan in the New Year, I think it'll serve him to kick around as I don't see Sturridge here too much longer

Unlucky not to get a goal tonight, but no doubt that will come.

I loved his intensity, and aggression, and he showed some lovely touches and passes.

Great to have you back Danny.

Definitely to have him back and get him some higher level minutes than in the reserves.

That's exactly what I thought about his chance tonight, in the U23's that goes in. He just needs a few more minutes at this level to get his accuracy and sharpness.

Poor lad, he just can't catch a break with these injuries

Liverpool striker Danny Ings has suffered another devastating blow to his career with a knee injury ruling him out for the season.

Ings missed most of last year with a cruciate knee problem and was still working his way back to full fitness.

Now his hopes of breaking into Jürgen Klopp's first team are over for the rest of the campaign. He is undergoing surgery in London after picking up the latest injury during his side’s victory over Spurs in the League Cup last week.

Don't think we'll see Danny playing in the first team again I'm afraid.

The longer he remains out the harder it will be to break in to Klopps team.

      Gutted for the lad.

So gutted for the lad. He gets a great move from a relegation candidate to Liverpool and then barely gets to play because of 2 injuries, life can be cruel at times. Hopefully he comes back stronger.

Oh well, obviously feel bad for the lad but he never really made the grade for us so no huge loss form the team/squad perspective.

Just heard the news, it's devastating news for Danny, just as he was coming back to full fitness and hopefully pushing for a first team place. Wishing him all the very best and hoping he'll be back sooner than anticipated. YNWA.

Don't feel to bad for him, he has been and will continue to earn a very healthy weekly wage whilst doing sod all work, no fault of his of course but its not like he's just been made redundant, wife run out on him with best mate and home been repossessed all on the same day.

Have a heart mate, that's a bit of a shithouse comment. This could be the end of someone's dream.

He's never made the grade for us because he's been out injured. Did you not notice?

      Has that happened to you?

I'm gutted for Danny, got a dream move and now it's been nothing but set backs. Klopp is understanding though, he will give him the time he needs. I just hope it doesn't affect his ability, we all know what knee injuries can do to careers just look at Torres, Falcao.

ACL injuries can end peoples careers and only half of the people who suffer them get back to their previous potential.

It's not about being paid to sit around doing nothing. It's about being in the gym, on your own, every day trying to get yourself better to get back into the first team to keep earning the wage that stops your wife leaving you and your home being repossessed.
