This England team is so bad to watch. They're so slow in their build up and the crosses are shocking.

Expect any less when Southgate is the manager? Basically the U21 version of Woy.

A bit unfair on Southgate as he does favour a bit more style than Roy.

Regardless of manager or level I can't ever remember an England team playing with any sort of tempo at all.

I reckon we should take a gamble on Bernardo Silva as Sterling's replacement, the kid is a bit special!

      Nice assist from Can!

With Can being good as a CB/RCB, he is surprisingly poor defensively as a midfielder.

Why do you say that? Was he poor in that game?

I like Can but I worry about him being our DM as well - I don't think he's disciplined enough.

Poor as in not defensively disciplined enough I guess. Him and Kimmich both played as CM players and it was mainly Kimmich covering defensively. Though Can improved 2nd half and I felt he was the dominate midfielder.

I'm starting to see what he can offer in the CM role, but I think he really needs to work on his fitness. Personally, I prefer 2 midfielders (1 box-box and 1 dm) and I'm not sure he'll be ahead of Hendo or Milner as of yet, but there is huge potential.

Yeah I'm not sure if he'll begin the season as a starter either. I have much faith in him as a player but he needs more consistency - in terms of passing, discipline and better fitness as well - and will have to fight for his place, especially if we do end up signing Illarramendi.

Is he a regular starter? He reminds me of D.Silva. I think if he carries on playing like how he has done for U21's at club level, I really think he can progress to become one of the best!!! Is he the biggest attacking Portuguese young talent out there at the moment?

Portugal has got really high hopes for him along with a few and a few from the u20 who lost to brazil last week on pens at the world u20 world cup, lot of pundits want them drafted into the Portugal 1st team to get ready for 2016/18.
Portugal is only a small country of 10 million but they seem to produce some quality players, what really pisses me off is that Ronaldo and Quaresma was offered to Liverpool for around 12 to 15 million and  Gérard Houllier turnded them down and 6 month's later manure sign Ronaldo still pisses me off to this day.

Ings bright start. Been involved in the action, some nice touches and grafted back more than once.

Ings probably should have scored there but he's had a good start IMO. He works back and defends quite a lot.

Danny boy, gotta take those ones.

Lovely run. Already showed more movement than any other striker we had last season. I'll forgive being on his left foot but should have been 1-0.

Game and competition over. This is what happens Southgate when you chop and change your team so much.

England down 2-0 just like that. Crumbling in tournament football again.

      Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.

Englands defence trying to play it out when they clearly aren't comfortable. Gibson looks awful both times i've seen him.

It's baffled me how Chambers sits on the bench every game when this Gibson lad plays. Quite a few of these English lads have looked poor. Chalobah, Gibson, Garbutt, Hughes, Ward-Prowse, Moore and Carroll are the ones that have stood out for me for being poor. I wish Garbutt would be taken off free kicks and corners because he clearly can't cross to save his life.

Stones just about gifts another to Italy. Poor awareness from a defender that's meant to be good with the ball.
