Superb today.

That was the Gomez of 5 years ago.

Wasn't at fault for any of the goals and didn't deserve to be on the end of 3 conceded.

Yes he was awesome. He did that thing Virgil does in toying with forwards in deciding when he is going to make a challenge for the ball. His timing was impeccable.

Getting back to his best is Joe, he’s gold dust for me, he can play anywhere across that back line, and not look out of place, what a asset that is to have as a manager, how many more times does he have to prove that, Joe isn’t daft, he knows his status within the squad, he knows that Ibou will come straight back in once match fit, so more kudos to him knowing he’s likely to warm the bench for a spell, not for the first time, but he understands that, and he he’s quite happy in this role, of course he’d love to be starting every game, but he knows that’s unlikely,

What it has given Arne though is the possibility to rest Virgil on occasion and play Joe & Konate, so theoretically it’s another positive having the ability to bring in Joe, or rest Virgil or indeed Konate when required??

Yep was like having Konate next to him.


Solid as a rock and backed Trent up whenever Trent went for a wander.

He was very good last season too when called upon, albeit mostly from the fullback positions. Pleasing to see he's carried over his good form from last season.

I wouldn't drop him for Konate just yet he is doing really well alongside Virgil.

Been great to see Joe back at CB instead of only being used as a backup fullback. He is CB plain and simple.

But as when Ali was fit he came in, so does Konate in my opinion 👍.

Been unlucky with injuries throughout his career, Joe. Has had a couple of bad ones when bang in form. Hopefully this one is minor cos he has been back at his best recently.

A shame with his injury, felt like he actually hit some form and did really well last couple of games

A fresh injury seemed inevitable sooner or later, unfortunately he is one of the injury prone players we have in the squad alongside Ibou, Jota and Jones.

It's no coincident that all 3 have now or will now face long term absences.

A shame because he'd been playing his way into contention again. Always seems to be when they pick up a run of form, a storm comes blazing in.....Kostas and Bradley both victims of this.

Hamstrings are a bi*ch. You can be in great shape and it just goes for seemingly no reason. Did mine running the other day, just totally out of the blue. Luckily for me I don't make my living with my hamstrings

He plugged the gap for us when we needed him. Sometimes well sometimes not so well.

Looks like Quansah will be the last man standing between us using midfielders for centre halves until we can get Ibou back and up to speed.

Got a bit of a cushion but hopefully this CB issue doesn't start costing us goals and points.

Looks like Joe will be out for a while. 'Not in a good place' is how Arne put it. He's done ok Joe and gives cover in different areas so its a blow for him and us. Hopefully he can get back by end of feb or early March.
