Very nice performance. He’s got a commanding presence for a youngster. Looks like captain material to me down the road.

Another solid performance looks like the unfortunate injury to Clyne is giving Joe and Trent a real opportunity to develop which otherwise would have meant less playing time in the first team.

Think he has been given a bit of an easy ride this season due to his age, but some of his mistakes so far this season have very little to do with "he's still young" and everything to do with concentration and knowing your surroundings.

People go on about how many goals Mignolet / Lovren have cost us, but Gomez has cost us at least five goals (could have been more) this season too. Luckily for him they haven't too often turned into us dropping points (Leicester twice, West-Ham, Arsenal tonight, others I'm forgetting). That's forgetting the times he messed up that didn't turn into a goal (Bournemouth the most recent one). I honestly have no idea what was going through his head for that first goal. You see him checking over his shoulder multiple times to see where Sanchez is. He KNOWS Sanchez is there. Why does he not attack that ball? I don't get it. Is he scared to clear it with his left / head and doesn't want to risk making an own goal?

He has had some very decent games against sides that don't target him and sit deep for the majority of the game, but almost every side that has got at him, got the better of him.

Perhaps a bit harsh on the lad, I know he's not a RB, but they're pretty basic mistakes in my opinion.

He was ball watching for their goal but I thought he was actually very good yeaterday. Deserves his first team status. Quality player.

Along with Ox who let the cross come in so easily, along with Klavan who got easily beaten in the air, along with Migs who’s position was once again poor. Gomez played big part but so did 3 other players.

Generally speaking, he is at fault but there were others that were a little to blame but he had to keep marking his player. This is the second game were he lost his marked player.

Ox could have  blocked the cross better. But,he was tracking back his man. Klavan could have headed better. But,he read the cross and went for the ball which is why Vokes was forced to head off target (without meaning to). If Klavan had not gone for the ball, Vokes might have managed a header on target. Gomez, on the other hand, was stranded and did not read the situation at all.

      P.S.Mignolet is a lost cause.

Needs to concentrate for 90mins as that was the third goal resulting from him turning off at the far post.

Lots of ‘Ifs’ and ‘Buts’, however, the 4 of them weren’t good enough in their given situations. Simple. Expect better from all 4, that was a sloppy goal to concede.

Kid has all the tools...will he be able to use the most important one (his brain) and bring it all together consistently?

There is so much to like about him, but he has to make sure that he doesn't turn into the defensive version of Jordan Ibe.

Think we need to actually start playing him as a CB, think that’s partly why he switches off sometimes, playing out of position as a youngster, not the easiest thing to do whilst trying to make your mark in the team.

Good to see he’s cut out getting so many cheap yellows now, that used to really piss me off. Was a card magnet at first.

Looks the real deal for me. I think he and TAA are long term certainties. I hope Clyne makes it back, he will fit in there too. I don't mind Robertson either. In fact one if Van Dyke turns out to be any good, and Keita is similarly as promising then, we have the makings of a very balanced squad with some real quality specialists. However, GK is still a problem.

He has lots of time to prove himself. We have first team players who are not even the real deal but have been starting for more than four years. Relatively lots of time and chances.

Looks good to but has to be more aware of who is around him, only young but coming on in leaps and bounds.

If we're looking at getting CL football next season and we're in the last 16 of the competition this year, I think starting Gomez with VVD straight awy would be quite risky. Putting him in with VVD next season from the start would be my preferred option. I do think he will be a big star for us but let's get our priorities in order first. I know Lovren, Matip and Klaven are not world beaters but they are seasoned pros in thier position with experience so Gomez and VVD for next season is a big yes from me.

I'm of the same opinion, leave him at full back (where he is play No very well) and take a look at the CB role in the summer.

Klopp says he is out 3-4 weeks but that he expects Joe to play again this season (ankle ligament damage playing for England).

Seems to have a real problem late on in matches suggesting he has a issue concentrating for 90mins.

There again he was pretty poor defensively most of the game.

What the F**k was he thinking with that back heel??
He has cost us at least 3 games so far this season, even though he was on the bench or injured for a large part of it.
