I thought he fractured his leg from sliding into the advertising board????

F***ing huge loss compounded by the fact TAA has been injured as well.

2 out of our settled back 5 has brought us pack to the pack.

      F***ing gutted.

      Yup.

Still wonder exactly what happened with Fekir. Less how it fell apart more that we didn’t move onto another target.

Bit of me still wonders if another scan a year on will see a deal done.......

No use just now though. We need people to step up over the next few weeks and give Jürgen a problem when more back.

12 goals and 5 assists this season, with some boss performances and some crunching tackles...the knee has so far been normal.

But regarding Gomez, if we can have him back before the end of March then I think that would be a massive boost and would still be able to play a big part.

If we aren't out of it by then.

Hope by some miracle when he comes back we are still Top.

Shame that Gomez got injured. I think that we would be clearly first if we would have him in the starting 11.

More than that I’d have thought. Will take that long for the bone to fuse back together, then he has a few weeks getting back to fitness. Be near on 9/10 weeks IMO...but I’m not a doctor so could be wrong.

After international break, but with the way Matip's playing, no need to rush him.

Anyone know the latest on Joe? Back in full training? Might be on the bench for Southampton?

Back in full training, just a case of sharpening up by the sounds of it.

Can’t wait for this kid to be back , Matip has filled in nicely but this kid is a rolls Royce next to Virgil , coming back at a vital time too .

Good to hear Joe is close but Matip has done well so will be interesting to see if/when he gets back in.

I think he will get back in, lots of tough games coming up and despite just how good Matip has been, I don't think he has reached the level of performances Gomez was putting in. But none the less, its great to have these options, especially at such a big time of the season.

Jesus Christ! Get Gomez back in as soon as possible. Matip was absolutely shocking last night and has hardly been an impeccable performer in his time here.

The only good thing about Matip in the side is that it keeps Lovren out.

No fan of Matip but he did do a good tackle when Redmond left Fabinho for dead and was running into the box right at him.

That being said when that's Hazard not Redmond next week it could well have a different outcome. We will have to defend better in midfield because at times the entire starting midfield neglected their defensive duties. Wijnaldum didn't track a runner for the goal, Keita was out of position/looking to break forward depending on your viewpoint and Fab lunged in and got skint a few times.

If Hazard is left to run at any of the back 4 unchallenged he will really hurt us. In a recent interview he said Anfield was his favourite ground to play at and one he always does well at. We will have to be better protect whoever it is who plays with VVD.
