Liverpool target Ludwig Augustinsson transfer as Reds open talks with Sweden Under-21 left-back
The highly-rated defender, 21, hit the headlines earlier this month when he branded Gareth Southgate’s England Under-21 side ‘overrated’

Liverpool are in talks to sign out-spoken Sweden Under-21 defender Ludwig Augustinsson.

He hit the headlines earlier this month when he branded Gareth Southgate’s Under-21 side ‘overrated’.

Now it appears the 21-year-old could be joining up with young England star Danny Ings as Liverpool have begun talks to land the highly-rated left-back.

Full international Augustinsson only joined his current club FC Copenhagen in January.

It's also reported that Liverpool have tabled a second offer for Real Madrid’s out-of-favour defensive midfielder Asier Illarramendi.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers saw a £10.6million bid for the 25-year-old knocked back but sources close to Real say the club have now received an offer of £15m plus add-ons.

if this happens it surely is the end of Jose PS3 enrequie as we cant continue to pay the lad to post instagrams and play fifa.

sell him and bring this lad in to give Morenoe a kick up the bum and push him on.

He's been killed today against Portugal in the u21's final. Couldn't get close to Cavaleiro and then the subsitute for Cavaleiro - Inui, or Irui or something - has turned him around the first time he's run at him.

He's playing. Looked ok but nothing special. Most of Sweden's attacks have been long balls.

The right back Segaio (sp?), Joao Mario, Bernardo Silva, William Carvalho all stood out for me. Don't know why Sergio got taken off so early, he looked good.

Cavaleiro was ok but he was offside like 6 times and kept dummying left but always going on his right - got predictable.

      Injury :(

Bernardo Silva & William Carvalho are destined to be world class players. I can see Man City buying Bernardo in a couple of seasons time and he'll replace Silva!

I thought he broke his leg at the end of the season - 2 month recovery is pretty good going...?

Back on topic though, anyone seen this lad play. We definitely need competition for Moreno.

Never seen him play but judging by some of you more informed fellas I can see he may well be a good back up and kick up the arse for Moreno.

      Any news of Enrique?

      Pearce in Echo -

New signing Joe Gomez, a £3.5million buy from Charlton, can play on either flank as well as at centre-back but if the teenager goes out on loan then the Reds may need to get a left-back. They have been linked with FC Copenhagen’s Ludwig Augustinsson but Anfield officials have distanced themselves from that speculation.

We need a left back if Gomez goes out on loan or not. He's 18 and not had a great deal of game time for Charlton so I highly doubt he's ready for first team football in the Prem if Moreno gets injured.

Ilori didn't play every minute of the tournament he was injured for one game.

Augustinnson made it into the Guardian's team of the tournament so he can't be that bad.

Origi made it into the worst team of the year for Ligue 1 (even though he wasn't), Messi won player of the tournament at the last world cup (even though he wasn't) etc. I wouldn't look too much into him being in the team of the tournament. He could genuinely have deserved it though.

My mistake. Not much of a difference, though.

Adds to the thought that a good LB is hard to find if going by his performance he was the best of the lot. He was awful.
