Carlos Bacca (Sevilla -> AC Milan)

He doesn't link play well at all. I read an article about him which pointed out that he only averages 14 passes a game with a 67% pass success rate. That's awful.

Our best option at striker this season was Sterling and he averaged something like 34 passes which a much better success rate.

I get what you're saying Bacca does score most of his goals from inside the box similar to Soldado. The difference, having watched both players several times, is that Bacca often makes runs from deep in behind defenders his movement is very intelligent I think he would thrive on through balls from Cou. He also assists quite regularly and links play very well in the final third. Both of these attributes make him differ as a striker to Soldado who is purely a fox in the box type striker with very poor movement outside the box.

I agree. I'd say we have consistently got into good positions in the last third but there hasn't been that intelligent movement in the box for the likes Couts, Lallana, Ibe and co to play that final ball. Bacca's movement is excellent, he is more of a finisher than anythign else and I'd be happy with that. He would be far more effective than Benteke imo.

Wow, that's stats are crazy and he has been under my radar the whole time.

I personally thought he was never that good but I am changing my mind now, I know that stats doesn't tell the whole story but it does give some indication of how a player is.

And for the money mentioned, I hope this signing goes through.

Article I just posted in the Firmino thread says that we aren't done, still targeting Bacca or Rondon. Ayre is to be in Chile for 24 hours but we already had folks there. I doubt he'd want to fly back in a couple of days...maybe he'll bang out another deal while he's there.

Bacca is a goal poacher, we have missed that for many years. The positioning of our current front line players inside the box is everywhere except at positions to score goals, most acted like statues. Great movement inside the box.

I personally think seeing as we signed Ings and Origi, we should take a chance and try them out rather than buying a forth #9.

I'm guessing that most people prefer Bacca to Rondon seeing as this thread is higher up the page than Rondons.  I wouldn't mind either as they're both the type of striker we've been missing, tough as nails poachers who put their bodies on the line to get the ball in the net.

Will people then be disappointed if we get Rondon as he's younger and cheaper but with similar numbers?
