2 assists the first an absolute peach couldn’t have been too bad then.

Yeah was gutted at that moment. Good call but he was exceptional for the rest of the night.

Thursday night just proves how important he is to the team.....when he's on-form of course.

He really is the foundation of the system and if he falls, they all seem to fall.

In terms of his pressing, his link-up play and of course his movement in the box, the performance v Spurs was, imo, probably his best in the last year and a half.

Hopefully he continues to shine, starting tomorrow against the hammers!

Firmino has 2 fewer goals from open play than Salah. TWO. And that's with his main role being build up and creating space for Salah and Mane to run into. Yet the moment we have a bad run offensively, this is the first thread the usual hates flock to point the finger but Mane and Salah go unscathed.

Good point but I think it's because of that purpose to be involved in the build up and to create the space for the other two. When it doesn't work for him, it doesn't work for the other two. As he plays in the main striker role, it seems to be the easiest player to pick and out and say 'we need more from here'.
Also, his attitude seems very casual at times and that's probably the most frustrating thing when you watch him play.

I'm not trying to absolve Salah and Mane of any blame. I think they have certainly been poor especially Salah.

This is why he’s my fav player, not many footballers can do that type of control and move

His attitude is casual? I don’t know how that’s measured but would be interested in looking at those metrics :D

It's time for him to kick on now. Thought he turned the corner with the performance at Palace but he dipped again after that so hope it's different this time round. It's clear when he's on form it makes Mane and Salah better and we're desperately going to need that in the next few months given the shocking situation we find ourselves in at the back.

      Bobby you make us tick!

I still can't understand, no matter what form he's in, how Divock started this game ahead of him.

Was like a breath of fresh air when Bobbay came on!

Purely to give him some rest mate. Bobby looked knackered at the start of the season but looks fresh and motivated now again which is brilliant.

Seems like unless he has room to run into completely useless against a low block team.

Never been the quickest but boy tonight I reckon I could have given him a sprint.

If we has Mane and Jota against low blocks teams we would have a lot more joy getting around it.

Looked like he had 10 men on his back at times looked sharp in recent games though
